If you don't have the owner's manual for your GE microwave, you can download it here:

http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/literature/

It will tell you how to do the setup you desire.

But if yours is not a GE, even though this was posted in the GE section, please reply back with your correct brand and model number.

We're always very happy to help and we certainly appreciate your very thoughtful rating of our answer.

New unit used 3 days. Microwave beeps and screen goes to menu, or set time screen. Sometimes changes the date all by itself. Does this in the middle of the night all night long.

I advice you to contact service if it has guarantee. This seems to be a psychological problem about your oven(!). Technical person need to do an electronic research surgery on its board to see if there is any wrong thing.

Need to know how to self clean a whirlpool oven... Model number RF302BXDW it is suppose to be a self cleaner, but does not have a cleaning mode.

I checked the owners guide here:
https://www.whirlpool.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/Use%20and%20Care%20Guide%20-%203189066.pdf

The cleaning steps are on page 23 of the manual.

Note the comments about using a commercial oven cleaner

("Easy Off" is one oven cleaning product that works well)

One product I find that works well on all oven surfaces is Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner. I have a real hard time finding it in the USA stores. Product image and description Link below:

Need instructions for setting my armitron wr165 , 45/6967 watch.

This model is not available on Armitron's website, but after working through a similar digital watch, I came up with the procedure.

Basically, hold the MODE button for 2 seconds until the alarm flashes then press SET to get to the minutes. Press ADJ to change the numbers. Press SET again to change the hour.

Here's the full date/time set:

SETTING THE TIME AND CALENDAR 1. Press and hold 'MODE' for two seconds. Alarm Modeappears. Release 'MODE', then press 'MODE' again. Seconds and the TuesdayIndicator flash. Press 'EL' to zero out the Seconds. 2. Press 'SET'. Minutes flash. Press 'ADJ' to advance the Minute. 3. Press 'SET'. Hours flash. Press 'ADJ' to advance the Hour. 4. Press 'SET'. The Months flash. Press 'ADJ' to advance the Month. 5. Press 'SET'. The Date flashes. Press 'ADJ' to advance the Date. 6. Press 'SET'. The Day of the Week flashes. Press'ADJ' to advance the Day of the Week. 7. Press 'MODE' to end set sequence and return to thetime.

How old is this appliance?

The microwave Oven was invented in 1945 by Percy Spenscer, an American self-taught engineer from Holand.

So, the Microwave Oven is 64 years now.

Good for you.

How to fix

replace the touch key pad. it has failed.

If this is an integrated control design, you will need to replace the control board as well. some board designs link the control and key pad as one device.

Power level

Hi cindeet,

I don't have this particular model, but have experience with other GE stoves & ovens. Looking at the control panel for an Advantium 120 at the link below,

http://www.geappliances.com/products/introductions/advantium/downloads/advantium_brochure.pdf

I'd start by pressing the "Power/Temp" button, and then turn the knob to select which power level.

There is also a Help menu shown (upper left corner of the photo I'm looking at - page 4 of the PDF document referenced above.

Let me know how this works for you - thanks in-advance.

Inside of microwave doesn't work

I'm hearing of this more and more, and I'm begining to be concerned that a recall or "campaign" by GE may be in order! Since your is less than a year old, it should be in warranty. If so (or even if it's not) I would strongly suggest that you call the GE Answer Center at 800-626-2005 to tell them abou tyour unit and ask them all about this. Please do let us know here what you find out! Assuming your power, circuit breaker, and outlet are all okay, then the problem is inside the oven. Some of the many problems inside the microwave which could cause this are loose or intermittent power cord, fuse, fuse holder, thermostat / thermal cutout, wiring, circuit board power part, or the code in the microprocessor. But the last one is the one I'm most concerned about. The others just aren't very likely unless there has been a breakdown in the design or manufacturing process. Post back if you need more help, but please do let us know here what you find out.

Shorting out

Sounds like the units main elecrtonic control board. You can contact your local parts house for the parts as they should have them or call GE at the #b in the owners manual. I must advise you that there is a very hi voltage inside these microwaves so you must have some know how on working on large appliace and if not PLEASE seek a pro to assit you in this repair. Good Luck
