I have a Porter cable pressure washer powered by kohler that for some reason is making the water come out of the wand warm. What could be causing this?

This sounds like a heat transfer problem

You should check that the oil reservoir for the pump has oil in it. It sounds like it may be low. Also, if it is a gas model, the engine oil may be low.

Remember the pump oil reservoir should be only 1/3 to 1/2 full of non-detergent oil.

Hot water comes before cold water for Kohler Mixer Pressure Kit

If this is a tub/ shower valve, you installed the cart. upside down. Reversing it should solve the problem. You might have put it in according to instructions but the hot and cold might have been reversed when the valve was plumbed in.

Engine manual for the Porter Cable pcv 2250 pressure washer

If you need an engine manual, then look up the manual on the engine manufacturer's web site. eg Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Techumseh. Porter Cable manual would just have cart and pump info.

There is an LP Hot Box you can purchase to make your pressure washer a hot wash system:

Top line of products center.... That is about as hot as it gets. And they work well!

Thanks for using FixYa!

No hot water pressure on kohler bath / shower faucet

Try draining the system and apply air pressure (min 30psi) to each faucet. Open other hot water faucets to allow pressure to vent. Next try draining and cleaning the hot water tank.

Pressure problem with Kohler shower faucet??

Hi pglaw,

My best guess is the supply valve for the hot side isn't open all the way. This valve is right on the valve and is accessed by taking off the front cover plate. This would still allow the pressure balancing valve to let water through but then you would have a small flow on the hot side.

If this isn't it then then cartridge is bad.

Please rate this response and good Luck,, phil

No water coming out of my Kohler Forte R10275-4-BN shower valve

This is a pressure balancing valve that needs both cold and hot water pressure to operated. It is an anti-scald safety operation.

Good Luck, Phil

Washer issues

So...is there no cold water coming in?
If so, turn off the cold water and disconnect the hose from the washer, then ( with the hose in the sink or washer) turn on the water at the supply and verify normal water pressure. Check the screens in the inlet valves where the hose connects to the washer, make sure there is no gunk blocking water flow. Finally, if this doesn't help....you can either replace the water valve, or if you want to get intense, you can remove the washer cabinet and check with an electrical meter for voltage at the cold water wire harness. If you don't have 120v at the valve with the washer timer turned to the wash position and turned on, (where it would normally fill) you need to replace the timer, which supplies voltage to the water valves. Hope that helps...post again if you have more info or q's.
