Check the color wheel because that's usually the culprit when the set starts making that whirling sound.

Tv samsung hls4266w all light are blinking replace the blud small fan and large fan running

Sounds like a bad color wheel----remove lamp---the wheel faces it--look for missing pieces or the wheel shattered---these are known for the wheel making a loud high pitched sound or even a grinding sound if the wheel shatters.

if wheel bad You Tube has video instructions for replacing it---seen several people able to do this themselves in about a hour. Google the model number to ("color wheel") to locate a replacement on the internet.10_24_2012_4_08_47_pm.jpg

hello
This looks like a colorwheel symptom, does the sound is like a mechanical sound? high pitch sound? winding, whirling or screeching noise ? well if this is the color wheel, what i think it is, it seems that it is not working properly when this happens the DMD board recognizes that it is not spinning at the correct RPM and turns off the Tv for sercurity reasons, so if you want to replace this yourself what i recommend you to do is to open the back of the Tv and search for the colorwheel it can have missing parts or it could be shattered or it could not spin correcty, hope this info. can help you.

The sound is a result of the faulty CRT base, and you will have to replace the base socket. Make sure you by the exact same type of base, and if you are not a techie, get a qualified technician, this is not a costly problem.

Weird noise over everything

According to the Samsung website: "The high pitched sound you hear is probably coming from the flyback transformer. The flyback transformer converts the relatively low voltage electricity that comes from the outlet in your home to the high voltage electricity needed to drive the cathode ray tube in your TV. It is not unusual for a flyback transformer to buzz softly when it operates. However, if the sound is loud and high pitched, it probably means the transformer is failing. To eliminate the sound, you will have to get your TV serviced."

I think its the flyback and its starting to leak. this is a component responsible for the high voltage of your tv set. always observe safety in dealing with this. Have it check by a qualified technician. Good luck!
