Hi! I think BigZ1981 is right you need to tell the exact model no. in order to find the right drivers. You can see the Model of your motherboard by opening the cabinet. But i think the sound driver for your PC can be obtained from the link below-

http://www.free-codecs.com/Realtek_AC97_ALC650_Audio_Codecs_download.htm

Download the third codec from the list

This tells me nothing...I need to know the actual model of the motherboard...I assume you're using onboard sound...if that's so, knowing the motherboard model will help in determining what sound drivers you need. see:

http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Motherboard/Default.aspx

to find your motherboard.

also, most times you can find the drivers on their support page when you find your motherboard.

In the small chart in the middle where it states, Overview, Awards, BIOS, Comparison Sheet, CPU Support List Driver, FAQ, Manual, and News, click on > Driver.

(AMD Sempron 2400+
That fits in a Socket A processor socket. Socket A is also known as Socket 462.

Go to your device manager and make it your default audio device. Also check for the latest drivers, make sure they are updated. Some drivers are not compatiable with Vista 64 bit.

Problem with the multimedia audio controller of AMD sempron 2600+

I am not trying to sound funny, but the processor which you listed amd 2600,has absolutely nothing to
do with sound hardware. You need to post the motherboard or sound card if the hardware is not onboard.
If the system is say a dell ,go to dell, if you know the motherboard, then go to there site.

Sorry could not help, but if you installed windows I hope you found the right chipset driver for the motherboard, and the graph driver, because if you did not, it is probably using a windows generic driver which are garbage. If you would like help, you need to post the model# of the PC that you are refurring to before someone could see what hardware is installed on it. Hope it works out for you.
