Question about Acer TravelMate 2702WLMi Notebook

Removing middle cover

I need to remove the middle cover on my Acer TM 2702 laptop. I downloaded the manual but the procedure description is scant. The cover looks fragile and would break easily if not removed with care. No screws are involved and the cover hooks over the screen hinges with a press stud arrangement at each end. Any tips?

If you are positive that there are not any screws holding it down then look for tiny plastic tabs holding in place. I usually use a very small flat head screw driver and find an area to safely insert the tip between the cover and the rest of the laptop and very gently and slowly separate the two. If you come across an area that just won't move then look for something that is securing it.
PATIENCE is the biggest key. I learned this the hard way on my own laptop, lol!

Good luck, n hope this helps!

5535 keyboard removal How

I am going to give you the link to the service manual for that laptop...the procedure for removing the keyboard starts on page 62 and runs through page 64. It involves removing the plastic bezel above the keyboard area, then removing the 4 screws attaching the keyboard to the palmrest assembly, then detaching the data cable from the motherboard. The link is below, give at few minutes to download, it is 8 mb in size. It is in pdf format so make sure you have the free download Adobe reader or another pdf reader installed.

Laptop keyboard replacement

I had the same problem ... spilled a drink on my keyboard causing the keys to stick

Symptoms:
1) Internet explorer browser always jumps to top of page even when trying to scroll page down
2) Windows explorer can't select any items except the top or upper most item or folder ... top item always stays selected

Solution:
Fortunately, the keyboard is pretty easy to access. According to the service manual ...
1) Unplug the power cord from the wall and laptop
2) Remove the battery pack
3) Remove the lid covering the hard disk drive
4) Remove the hard disk drive and bracket assembly
5) Remove the 2 screws from the battery compartment
6) Unsnap the "Middle Cover" ... that's the small panel between the keyboard and LCD that has the power button located on it
7) The keyboard can now be gently lifted out

Download the User Manual ... SG_AS7720_7720G_BOOK.pdf ... click on the very small, almost hidden, looks like a legal disclaimer, link near the bottom of the page labeled, "Save file to your PC: click here" ...

Order a new keyboard ...

Acer 5720Z removing rear cover to access RAM

sure..be real careful with removing that..you may need to GENTLY pry that up, under the slot, that is on one side...make sure all screws are removed, or loosened..this may mean that your memory was NOT installed correctly in the first place(causing the door to jam)..

Or, you may have the magnetic memory(just kidding)
