Question about Samsung HCL4715W 47" Rear Projection Television
The red on my Samsung HDTV is out of alignment or something. There are red lines curving downward on the picture. I was told I was having convergence problems and that I need a new sub reflection board. Does that sound right? I also was told that this is a common problem with this model of televison. Could you tell me what I need to buy to fix it and where I can buy it? Is it difficult to install or is it about like adding memory to my computer? Please just tell me what you know. I don't want to have to buy another television. I've only had this one for five years. Thanks Niki
Sub deflection ... doesnt sound right. sound like to me a convergence amp problem..there are two big chips called stk's these are like 20 pin chips that get really hot.. they blow all the time..not a simple repair. if it just the red then you might get away with replaceing 1 of them ..usally you replace both. also there may be a fuse somewhere that blows when they blow. then once you get those replaced it takes bout hour to adjust them...

I have a convergence problem on my Samsung projection TV. A red line wobbles back and forth in a north-south direction. With a live image the red portion of the image is out of alignment. I have no clue how to fix it. Is it possible to do the repair myself?
