This is very easy to solve. Remove the drum and toner cartridge. Look into the machine where they sat. Now look up and you will see (a little aukward but its there) a glass plate the width of an A4 sheet of paper. Run your finger accross it. Look at your finger and will probably be dirty. This is the window the laser beam passes thru to hit the drum. When its dirty it does not allow enough ;light to the drum hence a weak beam and light printing. simples?
Check original normally means that there isn't an original in to copy. If it says that when there is an original it probably means that the paper sensor is jammed in some way.
Very commonly a broken gear on the right side of the fuser. Replace the fuser and this will fix your issue. Let me know if you need a part number and pricing.
Hi I recently had this problem - tested fuser and all sensors. The fix is to reset the memory. To do this, enter the Maintenance mode. Menu, * 2864 (enter the number quickly) then type 01 ( zero one ), this will reset all memory including the user settings. Finally type 99 to exit Maintenance mode. The printer will restart and the error will be gone. Test out with copy and printer reports Hoping this fixes your problem Regards Lindsay
Printer thinks its out of paper when its not. Displays messsage "Check Paper - Reload Paper." Have emptied and replaced paper stack several times. No visible jam. Have shut down and restarted. Still not fixed.
