Re: Why doesnt the cd/dvd stay in the VALOR player?
The dvd drive coud be jamming on something inside, or the dvd tray belt could be slipping or the disk could be jamming on something inside which is preventing the draw from sliding all the way in.

It sounds like you need to connect your red wire to a power source that shuts off with the key. The best way to find a source is with a multimeter to see what wires lose power when the key is off.

FYI..... for any one with a Valor IDA-700w. The dvd/cd drive assembly was poorly designed. the clamp that secures disc as it rotates mounts on one side with a plastic pivot,fine,but the other side uses a longer metal arm that also has the clamp spring. The spring exerts too much pressure on the arm and cracks its plastic anchor. I repaired mine with JB weld and it plays cds but will not play dvds,just hunts and hunts or skips. Oh well,radio plays great-by the way, an undocumented feature of the unit is that it has a Zoran decoder chip for Dolby Digital and DTS-too bad drive is inferior. DTS cd discs play great when it works!
