Question about Pentax Optio M20 Digital Camera
I moved and in the process lost my software cd. When I try to plug in the camera via the USB it's not automatically loading. Does anyone have the software or a link to the software they can email me? Please email to: [email protected]!
You don't need any software.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

You certainly need to use high capacity Ni-Mah or lithium batteries. Using alkaline would have caused overheating and may therefore have damaged the board. You are right to ask is a repair worth it? Almost certainly the answer is no even if possible. There are usually no spare parts available. Go back to tech support and this time simply report the bare facts -'It wont stay on'. Say nothing about the battery situation. Depending on the age of the device you may be offered a reasonable swap out price.

You need to search on the Internet for the camera you need the software for. Then download and install what you need.
This camera is made under Pentax.

Maybe.
But it does seem to be a lens problem. Possibly the lens is out of sync as mentioned in another post here.If there is a grinding, the lens is probably damaged by dirt or sand.
Make sure the batteries or battery is fully charged.
