My GE refrigerator cools to 28 F even with the temperature selection on '1' or '2' -- the least cooling. It won't seem to cut off even when the door has not been opened for over 2 hours, and the inside temp is below freezing (measured with a digital thermometer with a sensor inside on the upper shelf and the display outside.)
I vacuumed the evaporator coils as best I could with a soft bristle attachment, and they look pretty clean; certainly not dusty enough to block air passage around the coils. I made sure all the shelves, bins, and other parts inside are in their proper place. I still get frozen milk, orange juice, and vegetables in the drawers. Is there anything a handy homeowner can do to solve this?

If the problem is in the vegetable crisper drawer primarily, Google "WR49X10045". This is a simple fix kit for a design flaw.

I also have a GE model GSS25L6MBWW fridge and it also freezes in the refrigerator side. Almost every thing freezes on that side no mater what setting I choose (even down to 1 on the digital setting).
Any help out there?
Same problem! Food freezes everywhere, especially on top shelf. But I'll open the door and the reading for the fridge side will be 22, even though setting is 37.
Brand new Amana French doors bottom freezer. Freezer temperature is ok. Refrigerator temperature remains below freezing at all areas on shelves and Chef's pantry and crisper. I've set the refrigerator temperature to 45 and it still registers at freezing or below (i've checked the temperature on 2 different refrigerator thermometers that I have)
Model 25 - G55-25LGMB WW, 20 degrees on top shelf with digital temp gauge and the freezer setting is at 4 and the refrig setting down to 1. Veg/Fruit tray had humidity control set in the middle and I now set at Low. Help.
