80 series model 23822100 will agitate but won't

Kenmore 80 series model 23822100 will agitate but won't drain, rinse, or spin. It is as if the timer won't kick in to the next cycle. When I put the timer manually on the next cycle...nothing.

If the washer fills and doesn't do anything, or stops right after the wash cycle and then does not advance to the rinse cycle and drain, this is commonly caused by a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models. It is activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact, and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim) and make sure they are snug. If you determine the switch to be defective, the following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385198-replacing_lid_switch

If the switch requires replacement, a new one can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, pcappliancerepair.com, repairclinic.com, appliancepartspros.com. Just use your model number as your search criteria. All these sites offer competitive pricing, so shop all them for the best price.

NOTE: There is no need to drain the washer to repair the lid switch. However, if you need to drain the washer to avoid having stagnant water in the tub, you can by-pass the lid switch. Use the steps provided to access the lid swtich. Unplug the switch and remove it from the washer. With the switch in your hand, cut the connector plug off leaving about two inches of wire. Cut the center conductor (green wire) off flush with the plug. Take the two black wires and crimp them together and insulate with some electrical tape, or use a wire lug. You now have made yourself a by-pass plug. Plug this back into the timer plug and you have now by-passed the lid switch.

NOTE: This is to only be used as a TEMPORARY means of operating the washer and not as a permanent fix. The lid switch is installed as a safety feature to stop the washer motion when the lid is opened. Without it, you will not be able to stop the washer unless you push the timer knob in. Make sure you replace the lid switch.

Kenmore 80 series will spin when draining, but not agitate or spin during spin cycle.

Hello. I'm a little confused at the description of the problem. You indicated it, "will not agitate during wash cycle or spin during the spin cycle." But later in your description you indicated, "It will however, drain and spin after wash cycle and during the rinse cycle." I'm not sure if you description was an error but it sounds like you will need to replace the coupling which is part number 285753A.

Kenmore 80 series model # 110.82382110 fills, agitates and drains but won't spin

Based on the information you provided, you need to replace the wig wag on the unit. No joke, that is what the part is called. Here is a link to the part to order.

Kenmore series 80 washer won't drain after wash cycle

Try the 'drain' portion of a few of the other cycles (heavy, perm. press, delicates) and see if it will drain/spin there. You can also try advancing the timer slowly through the 'spin' portion to see if it kicks in anywhere.

If it will rinse and spin in the other cycles, you most likely have a bad timer.

Hope this helps.

Kenmore 80 series top load washer. In the permanent press mode the machine will stop when it moves to the rinse mode. I can manually move the time past the midpoint of the cycle it will run for a minute...

So it will spin and drain when put in the spin cycle right? More than likely it is your timer if you have to keep manually setting. I would check on timer prices and go from there.

Kenmore 80 series washing machine will fill up with water, then nothing happens

Kenmore Ultra Fabric Care Heavy Duty 80 Series washing machine (Model # 110.92389200; Serial # CF 1122814) went through the wash cycle completely, but rinse not the rinse cycle. Motor was going but washer not spinning. Also smelled something like burnt rubber. Could the belt have gone out? Is this something that I can fix myself?

I have a Kenmore top loading washer model #110 and won't agitate

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?pop=true&modelNumber=110.23912100

Also see the Whirlpool (Kenmore) Service Manual for top load, direct drive washers.

The first thing I'd try is using a different cycle. If the washer works as it should, the problem points to the timer.

I'd also check to make sure that when replacing the switch, the connections to the timer haven't come loose.

Since you've replaced the Lid Switch, the motor has power for the drain and spin cycles.

These washers use a reversing motor. The motor turns one way for agitating and reverses for the drain and spin.

Since you cannot hear anything when it is supposed to be agitating, the problem does point to the timer or motor.

Kenmore Series 80 agitate for 10 seconds and pause for several minutes

No, the most is a damaged pump, does it pause in agitation or just spin? I would check the lid switch and timer.
