Question about Toshiba Portege M200 Notebook
Hi, I have had a Toshiba Satellite M-200 laptop for the past 1.5 yrs. The laptop sometimes (at least once a month) gives me problems while shutting down, ie it refuses to shut down and has to be done by keeping the start button pressed. Sometimes it would shut down midway.
The problem is- last night, in the middle of one such difficult-to-shut-down moments, I did the hard shut-down. But since this morning, it has been refusing to boot. It just starts, showing the Toshiba logo and 'enter systems utilities with F2' etc options. But after that, its just a blank screen- nothing at all.
Plz help, my work is piling up!!
I am sorry. This problem is best solved by doing a complete system restore of you laptop.
Do you have the restore disk that came with it?

HDD was working fine, last time I worked on it. It just starts, with that Toshiba start up screen; if I select set-up options, it goes there. But then, no Windows start-up. My OS did not give much probs, unless the unexpected shut-downs were related to it.
Have a 2 GB ram and Vista, if thats of any help.
Is your laptop's HDD working correctly ?
