This problem is about a Canon IXY Digital manufactured in Japan. This camera does not appear on the drop down menu.
The camera was working fine yesterday. We saved recent pictures onto our hard drive and then went out and took some more, but when we tried to review our latest pictures a little green light near the viewfinder started to blink, and we saw ''Unidentified Image'' and a Question mark in the LCD screen. We then were able to scroll past that and see one of the pics recently taken, but no more. When we turned the camera back on, attempts to review the pictures showed only ''No Image''. When we plugged the camera into the computer, we could see that a small bit of memory was used (too small for the number of pics and videos!) but it looked as if there was nothing there--no images.
We tried taking a picture, and were able to, but could not look at it--the memory card insisting that there was ''No image''. We went to sleep thinking we had a memory card problem. This morning when we woke up, the LCD screen had gone black (though it still displays the camera functions in white in the margins). The camera shuts itself off when we try to take a picture, and that little green light still flashes.
:(
We bought this camera in June and did not subject it to any unusual treatment the day it stopped working properly. :(
