Popup on monitor screen

I have a popup on my Samsung 712n screen almost all the time. Is is a small box with BRIGHTNESS 100 on it. The box is white with a light blue inner band and black outer bank with an orange line showing it is 100. I can't get rid of it. Sometimes it will blink off for a couple of seconds, then back it comes. Sometime it will stay in the middle of my screen. Any suggestions? Thanks Anna I'm having the same problem with my monitor where a popup box is displayed indicating that the Brightness level is 100. However nothing that I do seems to make it go away. I browsed through the manuals and was unable to find which button is there to set it correctly.

First try unplug set from AC plug for about 10 seconds for full system reset.If not see if firmware (software) on set could be updated to newer version software...could be a software issue..

My hp compaq monitor automatically popup menus as and when and some times brightness or contrast increases automatically

Monitor this ole may have failed DC filter caps by now and it can cause a lot of strange problems.

18 inch monitor; Brightness popup

I have the same problem with my Samsung SyncMaster 720n, the brightness window pops up without me touching it, and never dies down.

This delicate panel is affected by any decibel or temprature change (like humidity in my case), it can drive us all mad.

Here is a picture while I'm writing to you all:

I was thinking about using some WD-40 (penetrating oil) with the panel, but I'm not so sure it is the best solution.

Does anyone have a better solution?

Samsung SyncMaster 712n monitor will have small blue & white tiny checkers on the screen. will go away if i click the mouse. sometimes the entire screen has those tiny blue & white checkers.

Surely the monitor lets you change it's 'standby' settings so that it doesn't show that; or change your computer's power savings modes not to include standby?

Samsung 731N Auto Adjustment

I'm having the same problem. Started three days ago. Really annoying. First I downloaded a driver because that was reccommended over plug and play. But that did not fix the problem. I ended up pressing the menu key (1st on left) and while holding it down I wedged a little piece of paper to hold the key down and the popup menu's have stopped. The box can be the brightness/contrast or auto/image reset/color reset ...
it doesn't matter, they all popup after pressing buttons left and right. Have no answer to correct the problem but at least I can now compute without these stupid menus.

Birghtness 100 Popup

sounds like your "brightness" button may be stuck. try pushing it and see if it feels the same as the other buttons (should feel it "click" a bit). Also see if any of the other buttons work, because if it IS stuck, they probably won't work...

i had the same problem.i called up the service senter of samsung and they were like, press the menu button and hold it for some time.immediately press the auto button.this would do auto lock.i mean auto adjustment lock.that solved the problem somewhat in my monitor.its not a permanent solution but it can help...
