The screen of the a1000 model is composed of 2 parts, the lcd display and the touchscreen pannel wich are both secured in the same housing, protected by a metal frame. Even if you only broke the lcd screen (and the touchscreen is still ok) in most cases, a service center will replace the entire screen assembly. It will cost somewhere around $100-200 depending on wich service center you choose. If you try this operation in a service center, the costs will be greater because you will buy a new screen and pay the labour part. It would be greater if you can buy a second hand broken a1000 with a good display and change it yourself. A1000 and the P9xx series are very easy to dissasemble and work with. The short answer would be to try to avoid a service intervention to the phone. It will be very expensive. the a1000 model was made in 2003 so the spare parts that can be found today are expensive and hard to find. Try finding a second hand unit, you may strike a good deal with it.

well here in USA the company give to us a one year warrant in mal funtion but I think no company give to no boddy a warrant that cover broken part to fix that we use local cellular shop they got parts from other damage one and fix that for cheap if not send your phone to the commpany they will do something for you remember is cheaper to repair than to buy a new one...good luck and rate me ....p.s. buy a carry case for your cellu never carry in your pocket...

Hello. A1000 are pretty buggy as phones. This may have a lot of causes, most of them because of the software installed, lack of internal memory and so on. When I had my first A1000 I was facing similar problems or the phone simply restarted when I was browsing the menu or things like that. A solution for these problems is a ROM update.However you will need a USB cable, a interface program between the phone and the computer and a ROM file (containing flex and flash). All of this were found on www.machman.gotdns.com but it seems the site is offline now. I'll try to search some of this for you but they are pretty hard to find as these kind of things are done in a phone service facility. Sorry for I can't assist you faster then this.
