I have a 13 year old daughter, andhave taken her phone away from her. She locked the phone, and I need to see what is on it. How can I unlock the phone? It is a LG VX8300. Thanks
Sometimes, the last four digits of the phone number will not work as the unlock code, especially if your daughter has changed the code. Even if the phone is locked, dial *228, then press 1 when prompted by the automated system. When it tells you: "Your phone has been programmed successfully", press "Done" or "OK". Once the phone has powered off, then back on, (it will do this automatically) the lock code for the phone will be changed to the last four digits of the phone number. For example, if the phone number is (315) 123-0101, your lock code, after following the above instructions, will now be "0101". Also, you do NOT need to know the lock code that your daughter had for this to work. After the phone has powered back on automatically, you will be able to use the phone normally. *228 does not delete text messages, contacts, etc, but it WILL give you access to a phone which has been locked, without requiring you to know the code that she has set.
