Thermador SC302 double oven the top oven is not getting hot

Have owned this oven for 5 years
About 6 months ago the lighting control panel went dark and we couldnt see the information, although the oven still worked
6 months later, the top oven no longer gets hot
dont know who to call to fix without getting ripped off
can you help ?

Thermador double oven, in Montreal Quebec. Similar problem with the display fading out. Thermador should step up to the plate or be obliged to through legal action.

We've had the same problem. I contacted a local sales room and they contacted their rep who promptly mailed the replacement parts I requested (I'd looked up the part numbers already). Now I'm waiting to find someone who will reasonably do the work.

    The parts were easily installed by a professional repairman and the oven has been working perfectly ever since!

Likely to be a damaged mainboard due to a 'brown-out' when the power went or came back.

They are very expensive, so call for service to get the correct diagnosis. It may be more prudent to replace the whole stove as it is 17 years old.

F5 error code
F5 = EOC electronic control failure replace electronic control is stated in the service manual. If you have any further questions message me them back. Thank you

The upper oven works fine. The lower oven won't
Make sure you hit the reset switch first... on top of the lower over... behind the panel...they trip easy and "kill" the oven.

The LED control panel on my Thermador double oven is out
I solved this. Its a vaccum flourescent display. The voltages that drive it are reducing because the capacitors on the control board deteriorate with temperature. Replace the 3 capacitors and its good as new.mine still working after 2 years...$.20 at radio shack...or have a repair place do it for you...saves $250 for a new board

Self-clean turns off after 5 minutes with F2 error message
Hi MaryB,

F2 error code means that the oven temperature is too hot. You will have to replace relay board if faulty. Check and replace oven temperature sensor (RTD). If failure repeats, replace ERC (electronic range control or clock).For replacement part you may contact Sears at 1-800-252-1698; M-F 6:30 AM-10:30 PM - Sat 7:00 AM-9:30 PM - Sun 7:30 AM-9:30 PM - All times Central.

Lighting panel in my electric Thermadore double oven is dim.
The cap replacement worked....saving $250 (every 2 years !!!) I posted it on another site...now its making its way around the web....its the only value added thing I've done on the web (sadly!).

I found I have this exact problem. Same bake preheat issue: I can bake if I set broil first. However, the oven doesn't work if I press bake first. The control board has already been replaced a couple times over the years. Is this another replacement??

Thermador Display
Have 2 Thermador ovens, SMW272 and SC302. Both have display failure. Just repaired one with replacement display. It did not require a new control unit or harness. Have not opened up second unit yet as display is still dimly/slightly visible.

Called Thermador and received no offer of replacement parts or service. Numerous other web reports of similar failures. My neighbor has 2 dead ovens also unfixed because of outrageous repair estimates ($600 each). Do not recommend this brand.

Full kit including display, control, and harness ordered on Ebay for $170.
