If you use your computer for gameing online or mp3 music, or videos and your ram is only 512 mb then this is one of your problems,
if you have more than that, like 1gb try useing a registry repair and cleaner this will help alot especially if you have added and delete several programs on your computer and never done a cleanup of your registry .
to eliminate some questions you might have:
1 running vista os requires a min.512mb ram
80gb harddrive
32mb video or ima 950 accelerated grapics card.
and your processor must be a p4 or more.
so....
if you have all this your opt's are...
a virus ( suggesting grisoft antivirus program freeware)
registry cleaner - http://www.Iobit.com has a great little cleaner,

Hi,
Well if the other units are working fine that means that the computer has some issues. Let me give you some solutions to this issue.
This can happen if your computer is infected with a virus or a spyware, You must have checked for that, if not here is what you need to do.
Step 1 - ( This will clean up your Computer )
Open this link and download ATF Cleaner
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/atfcleaner.html
Run this tool Click "Select All" and than click "Empty Selected"
Step 2- ( This will remove spy wares from the computer )
Open this link and download Free superantispyware
http://www.superantispyware.com/
Scan your computer with this and clean it.
Step 3 :- ( This will remove virus from your computer )
If you have a good anti virus than update it and scan your computer. If you have not, than download the Free AVG from,
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/
Scan your computer with this and clean it.
Restart your computer and try again.
I hope this should solve the issue that you are facing.

Your solution did not seem to improve the problem,I contacted ACER and got the typical run around! I'm sure I am not the only disatisfied customer that they have, and anything you can do to help sppe up this "LUMP" would be greatly apreciated....
