Question about Canon imageCLASS MF8170C All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

Mac OSX Leopard

Hi All
As this printer is not supported by Canon is there a driver that is very near or able to be recognised by a Mac?

I s there a way in which I can use a PC to act as the printer server?

Regards
Andrew

I've got the same problem. Need to get this printer working on a Mac or using a PC as a print server.

The MF8170c is a nice enough machine, but it's just a block of Asian plastic in my office until it can be connected to a Mac.  Sigh.

Olympus P-440 doesn't work with Snow Leopard. What

The first thing that you need to do is to verify if your Olympus P-440 is if it's supported by Mac OSX 10.6.x (Snow Leopard). If yes, make sure that you've installed the correct driver for Snow Leopard.

You may check the link below:

http://driverscollection.com/?file_cid=41942227668e7c7e22782bc2081

This link contains a driver for Mac OSX. I assume that this driver will work with all OSX (starting from Tiger to Snow Leopard). If this driver will not help, you may need to contact the manufacturer, and verify the system requirements of your printer.

Thank you and good luck!

Since upgrading to Mac OSX Leopard the scanner does not work, how can i fix this?

For Mac OSX 10.6, there are very few Twain drivers built in.

You have to download the Twain drivers compatible with Mac 10.6, installing previous versions of the Twain drivers can cause repercussions for the Mac.

Canon should have updated drivers on their website.

Lexmark X2650 scanner in Mac OSX 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard)

You need to update your driver by getting the latest software in the Lexmark website here. During software update what usually gets updated are the basic functionalities. In this case it looks like the scanner is not being updated as well. Hope this helps.
