Question about RCA F27676BC TV

TV dropped My kids were goofing around and dropped the telly. Now I have one third of the tv that the colors seem fine (about 8 inches in from the left to about centre) however near black and white everywhere else. Is this something that is repairable without too much cost? Or am I better off buying a new set. We still use the tv but I find it very unpleasurable at this time. Our second tv is our computer with tv tuner card. But we have an older Syncmaster 955DF CRT (21") monitor and the picture is only really clear at the smallest frame.

That's still repairable here some tips need to consider as follow:

1) Intermittent loss of syncronisation, both horizontal and vertical
The surface mounted power transistor on the teletext module requires resoldering. As there is evidence of scorching on the board the use of a more substantial component would be indicated perhaps with small heatsink
2) Picture displaced vertically, picture too high or low
This problem was cured by entering the service mode (menu then 4,7,2,5), then pressing the green fastext button to access geometry settings, selecting VP1 (vertical position) and adjusting as necessary
3) Vertical line at the left of the picture
Replace L506 on A board, replacement part number 1-407-366-00
4) Problems with screen size
Look out for 2 x 2.2uF electrolytics (sometimes red in color)
5) Vertical height oversize
The eprom was found to be faulty (nvm)

Sorry, but you are asking the impossible thing.
Headphone sockets are made, to mute the main sound on every device they are on, when something is inserted.
You can't change that by plugging in anything else. The only way around is a tech who opens the TV, and does a modification internal. He / she must know what to be done, or else the TV will be damaged. I think I could manage it, but Sorry I don't do house calls. Only from my home behind the computer.

If there is a current amount ie. 2.4 amps or whatever the label says, you multiply the volts by the amps to get watts. add about 20% for surge current when you first turn the TV on.

Someone probably played around with the "Tint" settings in the TV menu. The easiest way to fix it is to go into the TV picture menu and reset everything to the default settings. There's probably one option for "Reset to Factory Default" or something along those lines. Since every TV is different with this, you should read your owner's manual to find how to enter the menu and find the reset button.

Have ps3 that was working fine, unhooked it from one tv to another and proceeded with holding the power button 5 seconds til it beeped twice and still have blank screen
hi, if the ps3 was working fine on the other tv and you have not dropped it or anything like that then this would point towards their being a fault with the lead of the connection in the back of the telly.

what you should do is unplug it all again and refit all the leads in the back of the ps3 making sure they are pushed in far enough then plug the lead into the back of the telly making sure you push it in far enough, then switch the telly on and then switch the ps3 on if the telly dont change to the correct channel as soon as the ps3 comes on then you need to get the telly control and put the tv on the correct channel.

now depending on how many inputs the telly has would depend on how many times you press the button on the control, the button you need to press is going to be on of the following its either av, input,source,ext,aux, or a picture of a rectangle with an arrow running from left to right, now once you have found this button make sure your ps3 is on with a game in then press the button on the tv remote then wait couple of seconds it may say something like av1 on the telly if this dont show the ps3 then press it again it should then go to av2 and keep going until you see the game on the ps3 you need to keep going until your telly is on the right input channel.
once you have done this your ps3 should be working again.

FIRST YOU NEED TO LOOK INSIDE THE UNIT FROM BEHIND WITH THE COVER OFF AND SEE IF THE TUBES ARE LIT. AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TUBES BY THE CIRCUIT BOARDS, SEE IF ALL 3 ARE GLOWING ORANGE,(FILLAMENTS). IF THEY ARE ALL THE SAME THEN LOOK INTO THE LENSES AT TOP AND SEE IF THERE IS ANY LIGHT INSIDE. THESE SETS ARE COMMON TO HAVE BAD SOLDER CONNECTIONS ON THERE CRT BOARDS. EITHER LOST THE FILLAMENT CONNECTION OR LOST THE VIDEO DRIVE SIGNAL. LET ME KNOW, WE CAN GO FROM THERE. CAN YOU USE A SOLDERING IRON?

Check all the cable connections while the TV is on, both at the TV, and what the cable is connected to.

I suspect the problem is in the TV, and you'll have to wait for the Geek Squad.

I doubt leaving the TV on caused this, and good thing it happened when it did.
