Go to safe mode.
uninstall all video drivers
restart computer to bios screen.
disable other video bios
shut down computer
restart computer and do not let windows install its own.
get your disk or get the newest drivers from nvidia here and install.

If you have a PCI card or onboard graphics revert to those, once you get to the OS, install the driver from the dise then turn off the computer then put in the new card and should read the graphics properly.

GEFORCE FX 5500 video quality low, slow motion videos and games

well if your trying to game on a pc the 5500 isnt quite sufficient. If you dont know about nvidia you are about 5 generations back of days cards. So the card wont handle any of todays games. If your really trying to game i suggest you build/buy a new rig. But as far as playing videos, quality should be good. Try goin to and downloading the newest drivers.

I have Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 / 256MB DDR / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA /

try downloading " Driver Magician ". This searches for and updates all drivers on your system. There is a small fee for registration but this has been a God-send for me.
