Sometimes when I turn on the MP3 player the songs play fine but when I click next to change the song it skips to a defferent song. (eg. If its on song 08 it'll skip to like song 132.) anyone else experienced this?
Its not on random and it keeps showing error. It won't play all the songs that are even showing loaded. New battery, not been dropped just actually took it out of the packaging. Its not on random and it keeps showing error. It won't play all the songs that are even showing loaded. Maybe you have the player set to random mode so its playing random songs in random orders. If so, press the round mode button in the middle until "RAN" in the top right corner of the screen is no longer displayed.

Your MP3 player is stuck in INTRO MODE. Play a song and hit the MODE button on the side of your MP3 player. Once you see options appear on the screen, select PLAY MODE and choose NORMAL. This should fix the problem.
To change the play mode on the GPX ML648B you need to play a song, hit the MODE button on the side of the player and select Play Mode.
The options are INTRO (this will play about 10 seconds of a song and then go on to play the next 10 seconds of every song.) NORMAL which will just continually play through everything on your device, Repeat One, which will repeat one song, FOLDER which I'm not sure of, FOLDER REPEAT which I assume repeates a folder, REPEAT ALL and RANDOM.
Try converting the songs into a different format because the format that the song is in might not completely be played on the ipod. Right click on the song and click on convert to mp3. Then try transferring the mp3 format song onto the ipod and it should play right then.
gpx mw3837 finally got the music on it but only lets me fast forward through a song not skip to the next. What if i want to listen to one of the songs added to the player at the end of the list. I would have to hold down the fast forward button forever. Any one with a solution?
Go to disc utility and click on erase volume, then you will be able to add new songs. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, you may have to delete the entire volume and start over.
You should be able to hook your mp3 player up to your computer with the USB cable. This will allow you to browser the directory where the songs are and delete or add new songs. Your mp3 player will appear in your computer as a removable disk. The songs that you put on your mp3 player need to be in mp3 or wma format. I also found the instruction manual for your product in pdf format. http://www.gpx.com/shop_ind.php?id=%20%20344#
The GPX MP3 Player will not recognize .m4a files. You must convert the files to MP3 files first. To do so, in iTunes, click "Edit, Preferences". Change the tab to "Advanced". Inside, there should be a second tab control. Change that to "Importing". Change the "Import Encoder" to "MP3 Encoder". Close those windows. Select the song you want to convert to an MP3, right click, and choose "Convert selection to MP3". Then, locate the file that was created, and put it on your GPX. If you want to convert your entire library, just select all files using Control+A.
