The player door will open and close, When I put a Cd in it will shuffle to the cd but will not even try to play it- even when repeatedly pressing play. Once it has tried the bay with the loaded cd it will again shuffle but will now only allow you to select the bays with out cds in them. It is like it knows there is a cd in a certain bay and does not want to try to read it and will not allow you to go to it. Any suggestions?

Re: cd player won't play discs
With this unit...you won't have easy access to optical lens because it is a multi disc front loader. When you load the cd...does it display numerical info or does it display all ZEROs.If it displays all ZEROs...pick up a wet/dry cd/dvd lens cleaning disc and use it as per the directions on the package. Most discs have music encoded on them...If this music plays...finish the cleaning process and then try to play your music cd's.If you still have problems after this..it is an issue that needs repair...I hope this was helpful...
Maybe you should try cleaning the lens by opening the shelf TOP, and cleaning the lens? I had that problem. Take a Q - Tip with alcohol on it and it will do the job. Careful to not touch any components, and unplug first! The system can electrocute you even if unplugged, so don't touch any electronic component else than the lens inside.

Many CD players hang with a disc in them that is dirty or damaged. Most players have a small pinhole on the front panel where you can gently insert a pin and release the door to remove the disc. Don't use too much force and push straight in, with a pin or paper clip thin enough not to enlarge the hole and the tray should come partway out. Gently pull it open to remove the disc and try a different disc.
A CD tray is usually powered by a rubber strap, the belt can slip through, causing the electronics to miss the input timing, including a microswitch or copper contact which is activated at the closed disc tray so that the laser is focussed to read the table of contents Due to the fact that the spindle motor is activated. And in some players (interchanges there is also a selects witch that can be contaminated. a suggestion to help in the link How to Fix DVD or CD Player That Won Open
hello i have had the same problem with my 5 cd changer,i way i solved this was to turn the player top slide down then do this care fully ,shake it gently and see if a cd came out of it, groove sit in the player.if you hear a rattle than there is a stray cd in the device. you have got to shake the cd to the front of the cd dawer to take it out with a thin ruler or a butter knife but be care ful with the knife preess on the open button wale trying to slide the butter knife between the stuck cd and the inside of the cd sit cation be care.
I had this happen to me as ell. you've probably got a cd stuck under the revolving tray. I took the top cover off and then opened the drawer and removed the offending disk. If you're not technically minded it's probably better to take it in to a repair shop.
