On/off light and energy save lights are flashing on a hotpoint WF000. When I unplug and restart the machine on a wash, it'll run for a while before flashing the prewash light as well as the normal running lights. In this error condition the machine continuously fills and pumps out at the same time - high water level present in the drum. Any ideas?

problem seems sorted: Initial error occured when trying a test run (fast spin) with an empty machine. Thought it was a load sensor. Tried it again with the wash selection on fast wash with machine off, switched off and on again, pressed and held start/cancel and then start again. Rn through complete cycle no problems. fluke??

For sure electronic control issue, nothing mechanical. the cpu seems confused, may need new board

2 things, never run a machine empty, at least place ina light load. second, the original problem may have been too much soap in a load, thus confusing the water level sensor.

Do a search on Google using 'diagnostics, hotpoint, flashing lights'. There must be a manual which will identify what this fault is

On and off light and energy save and reduces creases lights flash

Hi Snarey, it sound like your door lock has passed away, you will need to make sure the appliance is unpluged, empty the water out of the drum, and check the vacuum switch which opperates the lock.

Flashing on/off switch flashing energy saver light

I had the same problem with our hotpoint aquarius WT540P , I contacted EMW electronics who told me it was most likley the Computer board. They supply reworked replacedment boards on an exchange basis. I installed the replacement and the machine's been washing away merrily since. Here's a link to there web site. http://www.emwelec.co.uk/ .
