What is the make/model of the laptop? You may need to re-install or upgrade the video driver.

Hope this helps :) Kindly leave a rating. Thanks..

I want to make sure I get the right driver for you. Is there any additional letters in the next to the model name?

    dv9500t? dv9500z? or just dv9500?

  • Anonymous Nov 28, 2007

I also need to know what OS you're running?

  • Anonymous Nov 29, 2007

Follow this link to download and install the driver. Vista should automatically go out and get the driver. Nevertheless, the driver is about 130MB.

Gateway MT6707 shutdown problem

Open the Control Panel, select Power Options, select High Performance, select Change Plan Settings, Under Plugged In, set time to Turn Off Display, set Put the Computer to Sleep to Never, select Change Advanced Power Settings, scroll through the settings , click on the + at Power buttons and Lid, set to shut down, Sleep and Hibernate to Never, adjust the rest to your preference. When you are not using the Laptop ALWAYS shut down and unplug to prevent damage due to power surges.

Compac pasario c500 on/off light just blinks when I power on computer screen stays blank?

Shut down, unplug, remove battery, plug in, reboot. If it reboots, open Control Panel, Power Options, Advanced power settings, Change Sleep and Hibernate to Never. Adjust the settings to your preference. Set the Screen Saver time. When your laptop is not in use shut it down and unplug, this will prolong life and a reboot everyday will reset your laptop.

My display driver R3000 or w/e, messes up like everyone elses, but not while im on yourube..only while im on World Of Warcraft.. ive spent months trying to fix the problem..ive done everything i believe i...

It is possible that your VGA is malfunctioning. But you will notice it when the screen resolution is set to a specific resolution and color depth.
Games play at it's own resolution. Not at the resolution you set for Windows. Probably WoW is setting the screen resolution and color depth to a values at which the VGA fail.
Did you try changing the screen resolution in WoW options? If not try it. Also try changing color depth.
Also, download GPUZ and check your VGA.
Best of luck!

My computer says i need to change my color depth, how do i do so?

You can change the color depth by right clicking on the desktop, click on properties, click on settings. You will see something as color quality, you can change it, thats also known as color depth.

Acer Aspire ZG5 Power Led showing yellow

Hibernation is the biggest creator of software nightmares...it has killed more computer systems and corrupted more systems than I can count. Go to control panel > power options and change your power settings in there. Turn hibernation off and just have the computer go to sleep after a certain time. You will find that the computer will come right back in sleep mode and will be ready for action. Don't worry about the system running until sleeping and then waking up, it's a lot better than finding your entire operating system is now corrupt and has to be re-installed.

Pc display

This maybe due to lack of Video Card/Monitor drivers or the resolution is set to a small size. You will have to find out which video card you have, and if you have an LCD sometimes they come with drivers (Samsung LCDs have drivers). To find out what video card you have, you can usually go off the model name and number of your computer and get the drivers from your manufacturer's website. If it is a home built computer, you will have to look at the card/motherboard model and serial numbers to figure out the video card they use. Normally XP has a default video driver and it should not do a miniature resolution, but it happens sometimes.

Windows HP AMD Vista PC won't awaken from sleep/hibernate - sometimes

To the original poster: There's a patch from HP related to this. Visit hp.com, and review the support download and drivers.

Below is the solution if you can't find the patch from HP, or if you're one of the countless people having this problem on another brand computer (usually an Acer or Toshiba with Vista and AMD chips).

The problem is actually related to the screen-saver, not to sleep/suspend/hibernate, although since they tend to happen in similar time frames and similar ways, it's hard to pinpoint. To resolve...

1. Set your computer power-scheme to "max performance" or "high performance".

1a. Alternatively, go to Power Settings, then click on Change Plan Settings, then click on Change Advanced Power Settings, Scroll down to Processor Power Management, and set Minimum Processor State to 100 percent for both plugged in and battery.

(For 1 and 1a, I realize some people don't like that the "solution" is actually a "work-around", but at this point in time, nobody from either Microsoft or AMD has fully "fixed" the problem, so to use your computer, you're stuck with a lowly "avoid the problem" workaround.)

2. You have AMD chips in your computer, so chances are, you have ATI powered video. Go to Catalyst Control Center, and turn off "PowerPlay".

3. Also for your power settings, set your "Turn off monitor" setting to a suitable value, 5 to 20 minutes (whatever your like), AND TURN OFF THE SCREENSAVER ENTIRELY. The "turn off monitor" will do basically the same things that the screen saver would do, and avoids the problem that Vista/AMD computers sometimes have.

If you're brave, you can skep step 3, but I recommend doing all 3 of the steps.

Screen colors

possibly screen color depth is set to 16 colors. - open control panel display - settings tab, slide the color depth to 16 bit. - change resolution to 800 x 600 for now. reboot and see if that does the trick, then readjust settings to your tastes.
