Lens not operating after being dropped a short distance

My lenson my Lumix dcm-fx8 will not retreat back into itshousing ater being dropped rom 12 inches. A groaning noise can b heard when turning it on and off. When turning the camera on a message appears after the 'groaning' saying 'turn the camera off and on again'.

Can this be repaired, and if so, can you recommend where ?

Thankyou.

Lens won't come out after dropping camera.

Only lightly toasted. The drop likely damaged the lens tube (housing) or jarred the zoom mechanism off of its track. There is no safe DIY fix for either condition, but the camera can be repaired by the manufacturer or at a local camera shop. Make sure to get an estimate first -- you may need to decide if the camera is worth the cost of the repair.

HELP ME

Unfortunately there is little you can do here.
Something has caused the motor to stall
Either a knock or dirt.
The cost of people looking at these thing and then coming back to tell you the worst is almost as high as simply replacing the camera.

DMC-FX8

If the lens is jammed in the out position you can try holding the camera firmly and tapping/hitting it against your hand with the camera on. The lens should then retract. If this doesn't work or if you are afraid of dropping it (do it on your bed, that way it doesn't hit the floor if you _do_ drop it), you can drop it on a wood/firm surface from an inch or so up and it should retract the lens. This solution ONLY WORKS IF THE LENS IS JAMMED.

Lumix DMC FX8 lens cap opens intermitently, some images shoot rotated 180 degrees

hi, i've an fx8. i had a problem 2 weeks ago. my objective didn't want to close when i switched the camera off. it remained open. when i switched the camera on again, the objetcive has closed and opened again, and the _Turn Off the Camera and Turn On again_ message appeared on the sisplay. and remained in open position after switching it off. i tried some button combination, like menu button on, and power the camera on. it didn't work, but the second was the shotting button on, power on combination. an it worked, my camera did some kind of reset. it returned to the original position, and everithing is working since then.
