Remove the bottom panel below tha door. youll see the drain pump in the center, fronr of washer. there is a black hose going from the pump to the bottom of the tub. remove that hose. at the end of the hose there is a plastic ball that is supposed to seal the end of the hose. more than likely there is lint build up on the ball or around where the ball seal. clean the ball and the hose and reinstall. you should be fine after that

Detergent cake left in dispenser after wash cycle

Has the dispenser door open at end of cycle. If dispenser door is open but not fallen down to the tub means most likely the water arm pressure is not good enough to get flush down to the tub.

Door not open means dispenser failure or control board not giving power to dispenser at right time. In some cases dispenser door is stuck with harden earlier soap so it cannot open completely in the cycle.

Why not when opening the door at end of cycle, listen to dispenser area to see the flapper opening while you are opening the door. That means dispenser not opening properly in the cycle.

This issue is a hard solve sometimes. Don't wont to spend the money, then just use the tablets and through them in the tub in the beginning and say good bye to dispenser.

The items in the dishwasher are feeling "gritty" and are not clean at the end of the wash cycle

Remove the filter from the lower front section of the wash tub and clean it out.
Then start a wash cycle with no dishes and no soap.
Once the water fills and starts washing, open the door and pour 1 quart of white vinegar in the wash tub.
Close the door to resume the wash cycle.
Let the machine run a complete cycle to the end to help clean out the water ports.

Kenmore elite not washing dishes

Sounds like the motor is stuck. If your careful you can unplug the dishwasher or turn the breaker off, take the bottom panel off and reach in with your finger and spin the motor assembly.
