Won't Turn On Unless Plugged In

I just got this laptop yesterday and unless I plug it into the charger, it won't turn on. I charged it last night, hoping it can run w/o the charger, but the same thing happens. Does anybody know the solution?

What is the make/model of the laptop? It looks like the battery is not holding a charge. Have you tried to remove the battery and put the battery back in?

If you getting power then indicator light should be on. There is few possibilities. Bad power plug or socket (common). Manipulate wire when charger is plugged in and observe if indicator light comes on. Bad charger. New styles are impossible to diagnose with meter. They dont turn on unless they communicate with laptop (unlikely). Remove battery, plug charger and try to gently move plug an wire.

MF. Could be the new charger is faulty, return charger for exchange or refund. Battery could also be faulty, have it tested if you can by a computer tech. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck

take the battery out and hold the power button for like 15 seconds. then put battery baCK on and plug it in but do not try to power on. lets saee what goes? remember not to power on

Kodak easyshare won't work unless plugged into charger

Hello Pam, You have either a faulty contact for the battery or your battery is suffering from age. After time these camera batteries lose their capacity. Try a new fully charged battery.

REMOVE BATTERY > Clean the terminals specially middle terminals of both battery & phone with dry cloth.install battery. If the problem persist then change battery.

My Energizer N2120 rechargeable torch won't turn on unless I have just pulled out the recharge plug. Then it will turn off OK on the switch but won't turn on again... unless I plug the charger in...

Battery is fully charged, but netbook won't turn on unless plugged in.

I would say that you definitely need to purchase a new netbook battery. If it's only turning on when plugged in, then the battery itself doesn't have any more charge cycles.
