Computer won't recognize Philips Go Gear Vibe device

I charged the go vibe device as the instructions said. Then, I installed the cd once the device said "fully charged". Now, the computer is saying that it can not find a device, and I cannot make the device do anything but say "fully charged". It won't even turn of and on.

My go gear vibe is not getting started.what to do??

First you need to charge it completely. Once charged disconnect it should remain on at this point. If not press and hole the on/off/lock button for about 3-5 seconds. If still not working return for replacement. or contact Philips about the issue. You have very limited warranty of 3 months on the unit.

How do I download songs onto my phillips gogear cam

  • Charge your Philips GoGear ViBE for at least three hours before turning it on.
  • 2 Insert the small end of your mini USB cable into your GoGear ViBE. Insert the other end of this cable into one of your computer's USB ports. Turn your GoGear ViBE on by pressing and holding the "Power" button for two seconds.
  • 3 Insert the Philips GoGear ViBE software disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive. Follow the onscreen prompts to install it.
  • 4 Open "Computer" from the "Start" menu and locate the GoViBE icon to make sure it has been successfully connected to your computer.
  • 5 Navigate to your music files. If you're unsure about their location, start by looking in the "Music" folder under the "Start" menu.
  • 6 Drag and drop your music files from their folder onto the GoViBE icon in your "Computer" window.
  • 7 Right-click the USB icon with the green arrow, located in your taskbar, to disconnect your device. Click "Safely Remove hardware," then wait until your computer confirms that it's safe to remove the device. Disconnect the USB cable from both your computer and your GoGear ViBE.
  • 8 Select the musical note icon from the main menu of your GoGear ViBE to open your music files. Navigate to the sub-folders section, and select a song from either the artist, album, track list or genre. Press the "Play/Pause" button to begin playing a song

I did not get a cd with my player. the box is not even big enough for a CD

Hi imcann69...

The CD does not go into the player...it goes into the computer CD drive and download drivers so that the computer will recognize your player and allow you to put songs on it.
Go to the following website and download your (what was on your CD) drivers for your SA1VBE04B ViBE 4GB-16 GB

My Go Gear device was charging and then it froze. I tried turning it off, unplugging it, and even connecting it to a different charger. And my computer won't pick up the Go Gear device when I have it...

T osolve this problem, wait until your gogear device dies and wait for 3 hours. after that, recharge your device. This will occasionally happen to this device. (from personal expierience). I recomend the ematic tocuh screen ipod for only 65 $ on walmart. works very good

I plugged my gogear vibe (black 4 mb) into the computer to charge and after a while the computer did not recognise the device. it has error 43 on it. does anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

It seems that the software on your player has corrupted. I'd suggest that you do a soft reset of your player. You will find the reset button next to the 'power on' button on the side of the player. Please hold the Reset button using a pen tip or other sharp object for 10 seconds. Now turn it on.

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest that you format your player or repair it using Philips songbird or device manager. If your model number starts with SA1..... your player supports device manager. If it starts with SA2.... then it uses Philips Songbird. You can install them from the CD that came with your player or download it from Philips support site.
Contents may be removed by using this function. So make sure to back up your contents.

Format:
On your computer desktop, double-click "My computer". Double-click on the MP3 player's icon. Right-click on the Internal Storage icon and then select "Format".

Repair using Songbird:
Launch Songbird and then connect your player to your computer. Select "Repair" under the "Tools" menu. Follow the instructions given by the pop-up windows to perform the repair process.

Repair using Device manager:
Launch Device Manager and click the Tool menu and select "Repair", then follow the instructions to perform the repair process. Make sure all other applications such as Philips Plug-in, Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that access the device are closed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device.

Hope this works.

Philips GoGear Vibe 8gb purchased today. Is it supposed to have an installation CD with it?

No. there s no CD by pack.
if you want to install the device manager (for repair and performing firmware upgrade) and media converter (for downloading media on the website and converting formats). you will have to go to the official support website.
if your vibe is of 2nd generation, you need Songbird, get it also by going to support website,
