Laptops do tend to get quite hot but cleaning it at least once a year should help. You could vacuum the vents but it usually works better with compressed air. You can also buy small docks for laptops that have extra fans on the bottom to help cool.

You need to disconnect all the cables and the battery from the sys and press and hold down the power button for about 30 to 40 seconds than connect the adaptor and the other cables in and boot the sys to the BIOS screen and set theBIOS defaults.
Than check if the wireless button is blue or not or if the sys is connecting to the network.
If it doesnt than try going online trough the hard wire and download the latest drivers for the network adaptors and install them after that restart the sys.
After that if doesnt work out that means the mother board has gone bad as this series of laptop manufactured by HP has a recall on the motherboard and HP was providing a free repair for these. You must check with HP if the enhancement program is still active on your sys or not.
Hello there: if this computer has a restore counsel just go to start and then all programs and then to hp and then to hp tools and in this you will find the recovery counsel if not you will need the original disk to do the factory restore i bought mine for about 29 dollars from hp. ok? best regards michael
you can do is reseat the power connector at the back of the drive if that doesnt work ... change the power connector u may have an extra in the tower and than try ... if that doesnt work u have a faulty drive
