I have a 48 inch rear projection tv Model #46GW948 Serial #119251338 THE PICTURE CURVES UP FROM THE BOTTOM AND DOWN FROM THE TOP. THE COLORS ARE SEPERATED LIKE ITS 3D. I TRIED USIONG THE SCREEN MENU TO ADJUST THE PROJECTOR SCREEN BUT THE #6 SETTING IN NOT ON THE MENU ANYMORE. ANY IDEAS?

Tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it is dead.The tv convergence board it is dead,that why ur tv picture are R,G,B colors lines mis alignments,have colors shadows picture or 3D picture lood alike?The tv convergence board require changes 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

This is called vertical pincushion IMHO.

With a bit of luck you should be able to adjust this from the service menu.

 

Access the service mode: set SLEEP TIMER to 0 MIN.
While this is still displayed, simultaneously push DISPLAY and
VIDEO STATUS.

Need the model number to help as I am not sure of you have a RCA or a Toshiba

You have a problem with convergence and all you may need to do is replace a fuse. Look up convergence for your tv model and hopefully you will get an answer as to where the fuse is located and how to replace it. Very common for RCA tv's

If the entire screen is curved, and it is not taking the whole screen, then you have a vertical deflection problem.

If the colors are double and do not match, with lines of different colors around pictures , then you have a convergence problem, often caused by a faulty convergence board.

The curving effect can be a side effect of bad convergence, or you may have both problems at once.

Unless you are a TV repairer yourself, better calling technical support. Usually you can ring the number listed on the owner manual.

REPLACE ALL STK?????? CONVERGENCE AMP IC'S & CHECK RESISTORS FOR THAT CIRCIUT

Its your receiver, not your tv! Switch receivers and it will go away!

Its Your Convergence Chips!. And Maybe a few Resisters!. Common Problem with this kind Of Set!.....

i hope this helps. on the tv, press menu, then channel up or down to "screen", then menu;
then channel up or down for adjust projection tv(6), then press menu;
then use the volume up and down, as well as the channel up and down until each of the 3 colors are lined up. press menu after each color i slined up to go to the next color.
