What type of oil should I use
The
Remington manual for model 111409-01 states: "This Pole Saw requires
lubrication only to prevent rust on the guide bar and saw chain. The
saw chain provided is pre-lubricated at the factory. With each use of
the Pole Saw apply a small amount of lubricating oil directly to the
saw chain (see Figure 8). The oil will distribute itself around the
chain and guide bar groove during use?preventing rust. We recommend
using SAE #30 motor oil for lubrication and rust prevention."

It's always safe to follow your owner's manual for motor oil recommendations, or ask an expert, like a Levin Tire advisor. If you've been using conventional engine oil and are interested in switching to synthetic or synthetic blend engine oil and your car is still under warranty, make sure your warranty cover's the use of all engine oils before you make the switch. No matter which type of engine oil you use, it is important that oil changes are done regularly. The time frame can vary depending on the type of engine, type of oil used, driving habits and climate. Home FDJohnson
