check whether your phones display is working or its fault.if your phones disply is ok i think your phone software may be corrupted.Please reinstall your phones software.
You can try updating the firmware using a Windows XP computer, which will also reset the phone to factory defaults (and thus probably fixes your problem).
Connect your phone to the computer using an USB cable, run the program and just follow instructions. Please note that you'll lose anything stored in the phone's memory (but not the SIM contacts !).
Whenever you still have warranty, you could take it to a Nokia Care center and have them update/reset your phone ...

I had a simliar problem with my k800i, it turned out that it needed its firmware/software updated. So u can either get it "flashed" at a shop (around £10) or you can try doing it at home but you'll need the software and the data cable for the phone. Google it i'm sure you'll find something.
