Ice maker stopped making ice

Was working fine yesterday, now no ice. Checked the on/off switch, made sure the ice bin was in properly, doors are closed, freezer temp is fine. Turned on ice plus, and still no ice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi

When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

NEED PROCEDURE FOR REMOVING THE ICE MAKER FOR INSPECTION AND TROUBLESHOOTING. FRIG IS NEW...ICE MAKER NOT MAKING ICE !!!!!

Are you sure you have the ice bin properly in place?

Ice bin must be locked in place for proper ice dispensing. If necessary, turn auger driver behind ice bin counterclockwise to properly align ice bin with auger driver.

• Press the switch ON to activate ice maker. Slide bin into guide rails located on either side of the enclosure. Push the ice bin in until resistance is felt. Raise the front slightly and push the ice bin completely in. An audible "click" is heard when the ice bin is located correctly.

• After freezer section reaches between 0° to 2° F (-18° to -17° C), ice maker fills with water and begins operating. You will have a complete harvest of ice

approximately every hour.

• Allow approximately 3 to 6 hours after installation to receive first harvest of ice.

• Discard ice created within the first 12 hours of operation to verify system is flushed of impurities.

• Stop ice production by pressing the ON/OFF switch located on the front of the ice maker.

• The first one or two batches will probably contain undersized and irregular cubes because of air in the supply line.

• When the ice cubes are ejected it is normal for several cubes to be joined together at the ends. They can easily be broken apart. The ice maker will

continue to make ice until the supply of ice cubes raises the ice maker arm, shutting the ice maker off.

• Certain sounds may accompany the various cycles of the ice maker. The motor may have a slight hum, the cubes will rattle as they fall into an empty storage bin and the water valve may click or "buzz" occasionally.

Ice maker will not make ice cubes, only crushed ice.

take out your ice bin the look in the back of the freezer and ytou will see a small hole with a plastic sqaure actuator.hold the door switch closed and make sure the unit is selected for cubed ice then try and dispence ice if the swaure plastic acuator moves up it is working fine it shoeld drop down when you release the dispencer arm.if it dropps back down then make sure that the metal bail arm is properly inserted into the hole in the auger case when that actuator moves up this opens the small plastic door on the ice bin to allow subed ice to come out.make sure there is no ice build up on the ice bin that would stop the trap door from opening.good luck with you fridge i hope this helps you out,let me know how thing s go for you.

Stopped making ice

Usually, the water line to the ice-maker is frozen. If you defrost the freezer, it should work again.

Ice crusher not turning

Make sure the temperature is correct. Most ice makers have to work in an environment specified in your manual. If the low freezer temperature is not reached your problems start. Try this first.

Ice dispenser auger does not work.

Hi, On GE refrigerators the motor is not quiet. Open your freezer, remove the ice bin, press the door switch, make sure it turns off the light, and then press the ice dispenser lever. The solenoid will click, which also opens the ice door and the auger motor will turn on and you can definitely hear it. If the motor runs then inspect the auger connection on the rear of the ice bin, its plastic and they break. On some models, like my GE Adora there is a switch just for the ice maker behind the ice bin. If you need more help let me know as with all long distance troubleshooting we try with the information we have. Thanks and Good Luck!

GE Monogram ZISS480DMCS Ice Maker Problem

Check and make sure that the float arm in the ice bin is down and able to swing. This arm should be down until the bin is full of ice which would raise the arm and stop any water flow until ice cubes are removed, and allows the arm to drop again to start the cycle all over again, to replace the ice that was used. The arm has a spot to snap in and be held where it would be in a position all the way raised, to allow the bin to come out for cleaning or all of the ice removal from the bin, such as to dump the ice in a cooler. The arm should be gently pulled down to hang freely and will slowly raise on its own as the bin fills with ice.
