Re: F4280 not able to set the size of paper scan!#@$
1. All you need is Uninstall the the printer from your control panel. 2. go to my computer and open your Hard drive (C:) 3. Go to the programs folder and open it. 4. delete the HP F4280 folder. 5. reinstall the printer.
Make sure that your printed is not connected to your PC during software installation until you are being told to do so.

If the paper is size is set wrongly, then you need to change the default paper size of your printer. Click Start and go to settings. Click printers. Right-click your printer model and select Properties. Click the paper tab. Choose the size of paper that you require to use in the paper Size-box. Make sure to load the correct paper for the printer mentioned in the paper tab. Click OK and then close the Printers folder. Most of the HP Laserjet printers automatically detect the paper sizes loaded in the paper trays thanks to the sensors present in the paper width guides.
For a better method, go to the Control Panel on your computer and select Devices and Printers. Right-clickon your printer model from the list and select Printer Properties. Change the paper size from A1 to A4. Set manual feed to A4 instead of Letter. Call Our Toll-Free 1-866-293-9220
If you are in Canada or US then you need to set the default paper size to Letter not A4. Most if not all software you use likely sends the print job in letter format. Because the printer is set in A4 it stops and waits for that size.

Don't select "Printing Preferences"! from there Select [properties] Select [Advanced] tab Select [Printing Defaults] [Advanced} (I know, the screen looks the same, but it functions differently this way) Change paper size to "Letter" [OK, OK, OK] *done*
