Hi, this is tricky, as the machine does seem to freeze even before booting. the fan may have become stuck, use some compressed air with the fan inlet (bicycle pump may do) to clean out some dust.

wait some time and switch on again.
observe if the green lamps for harddrive and cd-drive light up.
if no, the computer does not boot up, it may be then that :

the fan is broke and laptop prevents overheat damage by not booting up(buy a new fan and replace it)

or the machine itself is broke
in either way, if the solution i provided did not help, i would recommend to see a technician!

good luck then

Is the AC Power adapter the original adapter of the laptop? If it is, try to drain the battery and charge it for 8-12 hours without using or opening the laptop just charge it. After charging, remove the power adapter as you open your laptop. Make this way a habbit of using and charging your laptop to make the charging and battery life last long.

For laptop: Toshiba Satellite A105: My battery won't charge/computer won't turn on when plugged in. No lights show when plugged in. Don't know if it's a problem with the chord or the computer. Don't want...

Start by trying another power outlet.

The power adapter should have its own light. If it doesn't light up then the adaper is bad. Kensington.com sells very inexpensive universal power adapters. You might also find a good deal on eBay.

If the adapter lights up then it may be your battery. Notebook batteries are only good for 2-3 years. If you let them sit for a long time without a charge they may only last 1-2 years.

Toshiba Satellite A105-S4048 problem with AC Adapter When I turn the laptop on with the AC adapter, after checking the BIOS freezes and does not boot Windows. If I turn the laptop in only with battery boot...

There's not much you can do. The problem is definately with your motherboard. I'd recommend a bios update, but normally you can ONLY run a bios update if the battery and the ac are both plugged in.

This problem is pretty common among Toshiba's A105 and P105 models.

Besides replacing the motherboard there's not much you can do.

Sorry.

Problem with laptop- no power

The battery needs to be taken out once in a while. It is possible to use the ac adapter and power cord without the battery to power your laptop. Please press on the power button for 10 seconds for your computer to turn on. Check if you can see any message on the screen.

Toshiba Satellite A105-S4064; can't get battery to charge

If you put strain on the jack (e.g. hang power adaptor from it whilst using or charging) then the socket on the mainboard can get hot due to poor contact and melt.

There is no way to fix this except to completely dismantle the laptop and fit a new socket - most likely a repair centre will charge you for a new mainboard.

Try another adaptor to see if that is the problem (broken wire in cord) - otherwise look closely at the socket in the notebook.

Toshiba Satellite A105 no power

try looking at the DC input. My brother's 1st laptop had that same problem. All we need to do is solder it. Remember-1st dc connection, not the one on the MB.

Toshiba Satellite A105

The most common problem on these units is the ac connector solder joints break away from the motherboard. If you're sure the ac adapter is working, and the correct one, and it's not charging the battery (assuming the battery is good), it's most likely the problem. They don't have to appear loose to be loose.
Otherwise, it's motherboard time, or a loose screw, etc has caused a dead short on the board.
Good luck, if you have additional info, let me know.
