McCulloch mt210 strimmer idling to fast

Strimmer not working so used a new carb rebuild kit, strimmer started 2nd pull, carb only has a low speed screw and a idle screw attached to the throttle cable. Accelerates no problems, but idles to high. Idle screw adjusted as far as possible, low speed screw turned out 1 turn from seat. By the way it's about 15 years old, could it possibly be a clutch problem and weights worn and not returning to there neutral position when speed is reduced..

Some carbs have obvious adjustments ("H" for high speed, "L" for low speed or idle. )

Some however are hidden. Heres a video showing how to find theses hidden adjustments.

SOURCE: have 1987 nissan sentra wagon 1.6 carb.engine the

Check your Ignition timing before anything
check your plugs see what color they are
red or orange means carb is to lean , black
or oil means to rich then you can go from there
and set mixture screws on carb , let me no how you make out .

SOURCE: will not run

Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There may be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the two screws on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well.
< < READ CLOSELY > >
Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two screws down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each screw one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Be sure the bolts are tight. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. Set the idle speed with the idle screw, (sticks out from side of carb perpendicular to the carb throat).

If you are smoking that badly, loose the gas in the tank and start fresh with a 32/1 gas/oil mix. That equals 4 ounces of TWO STROKE OIL to one gallon of gas. Do NOT use motor oil in the gas. It may continue to smoke for awhile, until it rids it'self of built up oil in the crankcase.

On the clutch, be sure the oil level in the gearbox is correct. This is where 10w40 motor oil goes. Check the clutch cable linkages. One at the clutch lever and possibly one at the motor. You should have about 1/4" play in the clutch handle before the lever starts actually pulling the clutch.

You can download a free PDF service manual from this site > >

SOURCE: mcculloch strimmer/brush cutter - cuts out when throttle opened

Hi sounds like it could need a diaphram kit in the carby if it has mixture screws one markedl for low speed and one marked h for high speed you can try winding out the low speed screw a bit but if that does not work it will definatly need a kit.

Mcculloch petrol strimmer

Agnes take of the cutting head again and see if it runs at full speed without it. If it does you have either put the head on too tight or it's the wrong head.

I would like to know what the settings are for the RYOBI 30043YE 30cc strimmer

Sorry but I don't have the workshop manual but there's a small 'trick' you could use - works on most carbs. There should be a screw/bolt/grub screw on the carb body that sets the flow of gas in the carb. That's the thing you want to tweak. Start the strimmer (making sure it clamped securely) and set it at any speed, preferably a low speed but any will do as long as it's steady. Then start turning the screw/bolt slowly clockwise and counterclockwise and you'll notice the revs going up or down. Find the sweet spot where it's fastest and that should be very close to the ideal fuel setting.

Mcculoch mt 300mcculoch petrol strimmer carb two adjustable screw bolts ones for petrol, ones petrol & air mixture hich one does which

Actually both screws are for petrol mix. The screw closest to the engine is the Lo side. Lo side jet provides petrol at idle and during the ramp up to speed. Hi side jet (closest to air filter) only effects the mix at high speed.
From McCulloch, these were set at 1 1/4 turns out.
Good luck!

Ryobi PBC 3046YE strimmer starts but cuts out when speed control

A lack of acceleration in these units is most likely a fuel delivery related issue. It may possibly be time for a diaghram kit or carb rebuild kit to be installed in your carburetor. Ethanol in the gas deteriorates the parts that accomplish the acceleration procedure and may need to be replaced as they don't function anymore.
Many other things can affect these little machines as well such as clogged air filters, clogged crank case vent, clogged mufflers/exhaust ports./ spark arrestor screens...but more often than not, your problem is a carburetor issue.

Strimmer revs high and low when in use

Sounds like you need to either clean the carburetor, or buy a carb. kit and replace the small screen, needle valve, gasket(s), and diaphragm. You may as well clean the air filter while your at it. If you need tips on how to best to clean carb., just let me know.
