Question about Vizio Televison & Video

1 Answer

VIZIO 60" model# E601i-A3 Hello, My VIZIO tv has worked fine 4yrs since I've had it except occasionally turn on "not off" by itself but yesterday i came home and see my tv screen has faded black. The right side has completely faded black about 1/4 of the screen. The left side about 3/4 of the screen is showing imagery "not clear" but with a blackish fade and constant light flickering. I've spent hours today on YouTube learning about "T-Con, LED & Main boards" hoping I can fix it but what I've also learned "i could be wrong" is if the screen goes half way black it can not be fixed. Any advice on my situacion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Daniel

Use a torch on the dark area and check that there is a picture in those areas. If there is you can order a new backlight kit https://www.ebay.com/p/VIZIO-E601i-a3-LED-Backlight-Assembly-GA0361TPZZ/1810100267

SOURCE: I have in a Vizio Model Number E601i-A3 that lighting got. If I replace the power supply board, main/input board, & the t-con board, should that fix it or am I missing something? Help is appreciated!

To get help need to know exactly what the symptoms are so that wrong boards do not get replaced. Now doesn't that make sense?

SOURCE: I have a Vizio e601i-a3 TV which powers on and shows vizio symbol fine then The screen starts flickering and power to the tv goes off after about 1-3 mins. Any suggestions on how. I can fix the Tv?

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

I have a Vizio 60 inch LED. E601i-A3. It started making a loud screeching noise, the would turn off. I replaced the main board and now, it won't come on. Can you offer any suggestions?

Hello, Henry -

Questions for you:
Did you replace the main board for your TV yourself or did you take it to an authorized Vizio TV repair technician who did the work? Are you an authorized Vizio TV repair technician?

If an authorized Vizio TV repair technician did not do the work of replacing the main board and you did the work yourself, most likely you inadvertently caused another problem and will need to take your TV to a nearby authorized Vizio TV repair technician.

Best wishes.

I have a Vizio E601i-A3. The "Vizio" emblem does not light up and the screen does not light up. Is it most likely power board that needs to be replaced?

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

I have a Vizio e601i-a3 TV , an angry gamer threw the control and brother the screen. it till turns on ut it looks like shattered glass around the impact spot. I have been searching high and low on google...

The cost of the screen, and the tools needed to make it work with your current TV would be more expensive than it would be buying another TV. Go find the gamer that caused the damage and get them to buy you a new TV.

Lip sync

Vizio HDTV- Lips out of sync

Anyone with a new Vizio E601i-A3 60" or 70" HDTV that is having audio "Lips out of sync problems" with a cable or satellite box.

On Comcast cable boxes (or others), here's what you need to do: FIND MENU for AUDIO or HDMI setup on CABLE BOX or Satellite Box.

FOR COMCAST

1. Turn on TV and have Cable box Turned OFF.

2. Press MENU on COMCAST REMOTE.

3. Go to AUDIO Setting OR HDMI Setting. (On cable or Sat. BOX)

4. Change setting from Auto to L-PCM. (Turn off cable box to exit)

This should resolve any "out of sync" lips to picture after commercials on HD channels.

*This is a handshaking issue from the cable box to the Vizio E601i-A3
