The Denon RC-1068 universal remote has an Amp button on the top left side of the unit. This button toggles through Amp, Zone 2, Zone 3, Zone 4 (on some devices) and System Call. In the Amp mode, it will control your Denon device default zone. If the remote is set to one of the other zones/modes, press the Home button (right side in the row with the Quick Select keys, above the surround sound buttons) to return to the Amp mode. Then press the Input button (on the left side), below the tuner buttons, to select the audio-visual source that you want.
I've had THE SAME PROBLEM ! Neither official servise, nor internet could help me. The solution was problem with POWER CABLE! When tested it by TESTER it was ok, with no sign of a problem. I've tested everithing byt nothing could help me :) After all test I've noticed that when I've touched the power cable the problem occurred. After changing the power cable everithin WAS GREAT.
The set powers off because there is a cut off by the error amp which controls the main relay to switch off for safety from burning out any circuits. It could be failure of the output drive/ the short in the speakers or failure of the error amp section. It is tricky to find out the actual fault because you will have to keep testing by elimination, disconnect power output section, preamp section, and check if this releases the power switching.. Helpful? Good day
