My portable free standing Maytag AC keeps shutting off and the red exclamation point is lighting up. It is filling up with water, and won't work again until we tip it slightly and pour the water out.

Where is the water coming from and how do we stop it. It never did this last year.

The water is coming from the air that is being cooled. This how AC work. Refer to instructions that came with unit for further explanation.

SOURCE: Delonghi Pinguino Classic Portable Air Conditoner Works for 30 min then red light comes on

Have it serviced. It cost me $250 to have a pro do it. Also, check the timer (the dial is hidden by a sliding cover on my unit). My husband cleaned it himself a year later and he took it apart to do it and it works much better now. When he opened it up, it was full of calcium deposit and dust. He told me he did not think the unit had been cleaned properly by the pro.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune MAH-1 won't stop filling with water

A couple things may be going on here... you may not want to hear, but the Neptune has a had many "consumer related problems".

If your complaint is "will not stop filling with water" I would access your inlet water-valve (typically blue with 2 black battery looking solenoids; where your water-lines connect directly), test for continuity and replace as necessary. Sometimes inlet-water valves also go bad where the complaint is: "no water comes in at all".

AC keeps shutting off and the red exclamation mark keeps lighting up. We discovered the AC keeps filling up with water.

May be a build up of gunk in there that moves around and settles blocking water drain hole. If you can't open it to clean out, maybe making hole bit bigger with drill bit would reduce this.

Saeco coffee machine with a red blinking exclamation point light won't make coffee, how do I fix it?

When the red exclamation point is flashing slow, something is not where it is supposed to be, bean hopper lid, door, brew mech, water tank empty, dregs box or water tray on dregs container is full. If the red exclamation point is flashing quickly, open the steam valve for pump priming. If pump turns on, and water passes correctly, the light should go off and return to heating stage. If not, we have a blockage or a pump that is not working correctly.

What is the float switch

I have no real experience with float switches on dishwashers, but have with some in humidifiers. It's a piece of styrofoam on a narrow metal stick that lifts when the appliance fills with water & lowers when the water empties. If this gets stuck on something, like a dishwasher rack, the unit won't fill or empty the water & the cycles won't work properly. Take a look & see if there is such a thing hung up somewhere in the dishwasher. If you can loosen it, your dishwasher should work again.

The water empty indicator keeps flashing indicating we need to empty it BUT it is empty !!!!Now the aircon won't work We emptied a lot of water however now it keeps beeping a warning, the compressor shuts...

I am NOT aquainted with the Maytag Portable AC..... But There has to been a sensor that tells the unit that the water bin is full...... If there is any moisture on the sensor and touching a ground probe then even though the bin is empty the sensor is still making a connection to ground. If you can trace out the wire that goes to the sensor you can unplug it from the board till it dries out or you replace it..... Only if you do make sure you empty the bin often or you will have water every where because the unit won't shut off if the water bin is full..... Hope this helps

Hello, the exclamation point light is blinking on my free standing amana ac. I've drained the water and cleaned the back filter. aby other suggestions?

Try disconnecting power for 5 to 10 min to reset the unit.

If the light comes back on let me know and locate your owners manual for refference.

Keeps filling with water and shutting off.

Air conditioners remove moisture from the air like a dehumidifier does. With portable units it is captured in a removable container and when full will turn the unit off so it won't overflow onto the floor. There should be option for a hose to attach to the bucket which could be run to a drain so you won't have to keep emptying the bucket. Just remember the a/c unit needs to be higher than the drain.

New Saeco Odeo Go has solid red exclamation mark, doesn't budge

You have to 'manually' prime the pump: When the red exclamation mark shows, press the water switch on the right side (the picture of the water drip), then open up the steam nozzle and let the machine pump hot water into a cup until the red light goes out.

Sounds like the drain line is blocked you would have to take this unit apart in order to check this. I would use a can of air to blow out the leakage. Also make sure the unit is level
