What did it have before this, w7? and did it run ok?
did you check with PB first to see it will run w10
w10-32bit? or 64?
I first test the hDD first, using smart utilities first.
no OS loads onto any bad hdd.
are you in UK , England?
DESKTOPS, but what name is it above is model not name.
The GB site only show s this are not in GP Great Britain.
This PC maker is Acer.com using BRANDED PCs.
using google I can' t find the model name at all.
who converted it, you, and with what media to do that.?
dropping off the suffix UK I see others calling it an Imedia.
look here see if w10 is even supported by the maker.

Testimonial: "Many thanks. The computer is 64 bit. I was having some difficulty with Windows 7 slowing my computer down and Microsoft said they no longer offered support for windows 7. Prior to installation, Microsoft check over the system. Overall many of the things worked but this not the disk drive and one or two other things. I am not going to be able to spend time on it for the next three weeks but I will have a go at some of the thngs you suggest. Thanks again."
9years old. it is.
tell the story full and make answers 10x more easy, ok>
Please see my answer to Larry as posted
for sure we test the hdd first.
it's a 9 year old hDD in there,
so we test it first, learn that w7 or w10 does not run right if the smart tests fail.
for a fact,
better yet put a SSD drive in it.
HDD are slow , and SSD is fast.
why run slow and worse bad HDD?
if w10 runs now, the load run the free program.
crystalinfodisk.exe
see if it fails.?
parameter C6 must be zero "0" or the drive is BAD, and parameter 05.
in this example the spare sectors
are depleted after 140, 169 means bad.
C6 uncorrectable count is not good.
This is a a classic bad HDD
that some guy installed windows to 10 times
over and over at it keeps failing.
AS IT SHOULD AND WILL using a bad HDD.
http://www.pcdied.com/raw/smart-failed.J...
we test the HDD first,
just because it spins and seems kinda ok
proves nothing,at all. It must work PERFECTLY
or windows, will, or any OS will fail.
for a fact. This is why SMART tests were invented and rolled out year 2001.
to prevent all this HDD pain.
Used on SERVERS big time, in your mind wonder how a RAID array of drives with 20 DRIVES is keep going. answer (S.M.A.R.T) technology.

There is a solution for this problem, but you have to be very computer orentated to correct it. First look in the programs listing under startup and see if there is a link there for the PacBell auto start when the computer tarts each time it is turned on. If there is a link there right click on it and delete the shortcut from the startup menu. restart the computer and see if it is still there. if so go back and look in the startup menu selection and see if it has reappeared. If it has then you will have to shut off the windows auto recovery option so it will not replace the missing file when the computer is restarted. Now if this does not work, you will have to get someone that is familiar with the registry files. You do not want to go probing around in there or you may just shut down tour computer permanently. A professional will have to go in and search for the file entry that controls the option and then delete the corresponding registry entries. Regards, rcampsr

Then the problem must be a software related one. Something your adding to the system (knowingly or unknowingly) is causing this.
Install your recovery disks and immediately put on Avira Antivirus software.

Then update it from the web. ensure it checks all files on open and close. The point is i think you maybe installing something with a virus in it. better to check your system thoughout.
Avira is the best free one there is. Nothing compares.

i have the same problem with the 3 pc here in my shop 1st problem is DVD/cd Drive can't read the CD even the CD is new and no scratches. but if i tried plug it to other computer and load other cd its working so i had a conclusion that the CD drive is choosing what DVD/CD to read. so i change the DVD drive
now it's ok it can read my window xp service pack3 and now its loading but the 2nd problem is, when window xp load it will suddenly stop and displaying error saying missing boot.sys.dll press escape to exit.
now if this the same problem you are having. check your memory card.it seems that it has some inconsistency issues thy testing it using a memory card testing tools or have it replace
i wish my little knowledge may help you
rate me up if this solve your problem and let me know if i did help you
tnx
