Fisher and Paykel Front Load Washer - Error 37, can't unlock door to drain machine.

Hi, my Fisher and Paykel front load washer has error code 37 - I know I probably need to clear the pump, but I can't drain the water as the door is locked the machine is full of water. How do I unlock the door to manually drain the water? I have tried turning it off, tried every dial and button, nothing. Thank you!

Hi, you should beable to put a thin knife into the slot on the little door flap at the front on the right side and gently pull the door flap down, then unscrew the plug and the water will drain out, put a larg try underneath to catch the water, best to undo the plug enougth so that when the tray is full you can tighten the plug why you empty the tray, all the best.

SOURCE: Door won't open on Samsung washer

This has happened to me twice. Both times I found the drain pump seized up with
1st time) The right rim from a pair of reading glasses
2nd time) A plastic toothpick
Both times the object was in the discharge port of the pump. You can see this by lifting the check valve with the pump removed. Removing the pump is simple. Unplug the washer. You have to remove the drain line from where its attached to the rear of the machine (one screw) to remove the rear access panel which slides into upper and lower slots. You will see the pump with an inlet and discharge line attached. The lines have simple squeeze clamps. When you remove the lines, you will drain the wash basin so have towels and a squeegie handy. Remove both lines and wait until the basin drains. When it stops draining remove the pumps electrical connector by squeezing the release catch on it while pulling it. The connector can only go on one way. Remove the 3 hold-down bolts on the pump baseplate. Remove the pump and lift open the discharge check valve and you'll find something there I guarantee it. Remove with needle nose pliers and re-assemble in reverse order.
This is actually a good design because the computer protects the pump by sensing a higher than normal current draw when foreign debris gets jammed in it. It will trigger the ND (No Drain) code and sometimes lock the door. Always check this first before you call the expensive repair man. If its not a jammed pump it will most likely be the control panel/processor. Good luck and always clean out pockets before loading the washer to prevent this,

SOURCE: LG front load washer OE error. cleaned filter need

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

LG themselves have some information on this error code..

I have a error code 37 on my [email protected] 8.5 kg front loader I have all my kids clothes for school in there it says door locked how do I get it open and clear code please

Error code 37 means pump blockage error.
3 things:
Drain hose kinked.
A blockage in the pump or hose
Pump is jammed with something
Empty as much water out with a saucepan. Next -Taking the machine outside is well recommended - tilt the machine back onto a chair to get access to the pump. Unplug the wires to the pump and the earth wire. Lift the white lever and rotate the pump to remove. This takes a bit of forcing. The rest of the water will gush out. Check for things such as hairclips or coins etc. Blow down the drain hose to see if there is any blockage. Replace the pump and make sure the white lever CLICKS back into position. Replace wires.
Good luck

Code 37 -

Hi,

To my knowledge, Error Code 37 on a Fisher & Paykel machine refers to "drain fault" which could either mean that the drain valve will not open or that the drain pump will not run. The easiest user intervention that could be performed is to check for any blockage/clog at the drain filter, drain pipe, drain pump impeller and drain valve.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Top loading intuitive washer says fault code 37

This machine calls this error number for most faults.
So first let us know what stage it stops at.
The most common fault is blockage in the pump.
Remove the power plug, disconnect the 2 water hoses and tilt the machine onto its front.
It is simple to remove and replace. Disconnect the 2 sockets from the pump The pump is held in position by a latch on the left hand side. Depress the latch and twist the pump anti clockwise. Clean out , add a smear of vaseline to the rubber ring.
Reassemble in reverse
