Unable to get sound from speakers/woofer. Can listen to radio and cd via headphones. Everything works. That's it. Any thoughts.

Testimonial: "Hi Franco. Thanks for replying. It is a Ferguson F5000DAB. DAB MICRO SYSTEM with Docking for Ipad."

Hi Stephen, well, it's a Ferguson F5000DAB, I looked for service manual and I did not have positive results
As you comment, it would seem that the outputs, are either muted or damaged, you can listen through headphones because the F5000DAB, has an amplifier for that use
Test, disconnect the speakers from the equipment and test one speaker at a time, this is to know if there is a speaker wrong and that could cause the failure
If you try everything and you do not get positive results, I recommend you seek a specialized technical service
I sent you the link to download the user manual
I hope you can solve the problem
    Greetings Franco Dosil

SOURCE: no sound through the headphones

The way the headphone jack works is:

plug your headphones in and then mute the television using the remote.

While the TV is muted you can still use the volume up and down controls to adjust the volume through the headphones. I find that having the volume at 60-75% is more than loud enough on the headphones.

Just be careful when you unplug the headphones and take the TV off of mute, if your volume levels are still turned up you will be in for a jolt :)

SOURCE: Logitech THX Z-2300 Speakers Don't work and subwoofer does

Well, just because someone at Logitech said the speakers are definitely broken doesn't necessarily make it so. They told me the same thing, yet when I read on another forum that plugging earphones into the wired remote sometimes seems to make things better, I plugged earphones into the wired remote -- and Voila! All of a sudden the blue light went on and I had sound from all three speakers. The sound continued working properly even after removing the earphone jack. IMO the problem could be with the wired remote rather than with the speakers themselves. My speakers work again!

SOURCE: my speakers wont work suddenly unless I am using my headphones

Make sure in the volume mixer that it is using the right sound device. You most likely have it set to the wrong device output. When you plugged in the headphones in kinda automatically switches, but to use the speakers again you have to do it manually. Just hook up a cheap av receiver to your computer and use this headphone input instead. a 100$ 5.1 av receiver beats any pc speaker system.

Headphone for DVD on 2006 Chrysler Town and Country

Just found this and it worked! Hope it does for you as well:
There should be a button on the DVD remote control with a headphone symbol on it. Make sure the headphones are turned on(red indicator on earpiece) and push the headphone button on remote. The headphones will only work in the back seats of the vehicle. Once you have audio to the headphones, you should be able to hit the AM/FM button on the radio and listen to the radio while back passengers use the headphones for video.

My compaq presario c700 speakers dont give sound however i can listen sound using headphones. Is it some hardware problem in its inbuilt speakers? I have windows 7 ultimate OS.

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
If you can listen to sound from any other means, as you said via headphones, then the Audio drivers are working ok. The issue is with your Hardware unit; i.e Speakers (The In-built speakers).
I hope you are getting the picture.

I have a problem with my Yamaha HS50M's. When i play a song with a punchy bass line i get a crackling noise but i don't think its coming from the woofers, what can i do to resolve this or does this mean...

First off make certain it's not coming from the amplifer, try listening via headphones. If that is OK switch the speakers. If you find the sound moves to the other channel with the speaker it is the speaker and not the amp. The next thing to do is closley examine the faulty speakers units looking for damage. Still nothing, then with your fingers spaced out over the cone of the woofer (so you apply pressure evenly). Push on the cone gently so it goes in and out. If is scrapes at all you have a cone that is catching. I'm afraid the woofer must be replaced. If it doesn't catch, your next step is to open up the speaker and look around for damage or bad soldering.

Dvd player

If you have a factory DVD player, then while the DVD player is on, press your radio preset numbers' 2 and 4 simultaneously. Then to listen to the CD or radio just press whichever button you want to listen to. You should hear sound out of your front speakers only, and won't interrupt the headphones. Good luck.

No sound from speaker

If the volume is adjusted when the headphones are plugged in I'd be looking at the speaker. It may need replacing. I don't know if the headphones are run from a preamp or attenuated via the audio output IC. If it's run from the preamp then the main output could be kaput. Check the speaker and it's wiring first and go from there.
