SOURCE: sony kdl-40s2000

I have had an extremely similar problem with my Comcast Motorola DVR and Sony Bravia with HDMI connection. For months I would lose picture/keep sound when changing from a non-HD to an HD channel. The solution that I found is that there is a setting in the cable box setup that will likely fix your issue. Turn off your cable box leaving the TV on. Quickly press the Menu button on your remote to get into the Box setup. Make sure that 4:3 Override is set to "Off" instead of 480i. I believe this will solve your problem.

SOURCE: My Bravia KDL-40S4100 lost all 3 of it's HDMI

There is a problem with the processor. The only way to resolve this issue is to replace the main board. It is called the A board in your TV.

There are two for this model and the correct one will depend on what your serial number is.

Part numbers are as follows:
part # 185709211 for Serial #
1,000,001 - 1,350,000
1,700,001 - 1,750,000
1,800,001 - 1,804,270
1,804,271 - 1,818,372
1,818,373 - 1,830,000
list price: $504.87 core charge: $680.00

part # 185709231 for all other serial numbers
list price: $505.87 core charge: $600.00

SOURCE: my sharp tv is pc ready. I hook everything up and

There are a number of things to check here:

1) Verify that the resolution on the PC is set to a supported level for the TV. Usually the TV will show "no signal" if the resolution is out of range or the message "out of range" will appear.

2) You don't indicate whether you are connecting to a desktop or laptop. If a laptop, you may need to turn on the external monitor. This is done by using the function key and either F5 or F6 (the key should have a picture of a screen on it). Hitting this combination will toggle between the main screen with.without the external monitor.

3) Verify that the TV port is selected correctly (AV1,AV2 etc)

4) You will need a separate cable or the audio regardless of the system type. Also verify that the audio cable is in the corresponding audio input jacks for the video option selected.

If you have completed the above and it still doesn't work, please post the details about the computer being used and the exact cable setup that you have and I'll check into this further.

Thanks,
Dan

SOURCE: hdmi port stopped working on sony bravia

I have a Sony Bravia model KDL-46s5100 that had the same problem. All HDMI ports stopped working. I don't know why this works but unplug the TV for about 30 sec, then plug it back in and hold down the power button on the tv for 10 seconds. Like I said I don't know why this works but it worked for me. Good luck.

How do you hook up a planet audio p7m tv

Connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI ports labeled ARC or the port identified in your manual that supports ARC. On your TV menu, set Speakers to Audio system. Note: This is an example of how to change this setting on an Android TV™: On the remote control, press the HOME button.

Why doesn't the ARC TV sound work through the HDMI cable? Is it because the KDL-52XBR7 only has the Bravia Sync and no ARC support?

Not all Hdmi cables have same capabilities. Check out:

How do I switch from coax to hdmi on my Sony receiver?

on the sony site it says the hdmi into the reciever is for the video, relayed by another hdmi to the tv, the audio will still be the coax
I personally would use the hdmi from dvd directly to the tv, and the coax from dvd directly to the reciever and call it a day

Cant get tv audio through receiver directly (without satallite, Game, DVD connection)

If your TV doesn't support audio return channel (ARC, which is your TV audio routed back to the receiver through the same HDMI cable), you then need to connect your television audio-out to your Onkyo TV audio input, using a digital cable or an analog one according to the connections on the back of your TV. If you use a digital connection (optical or coaxial), make sure you have the proper digital port assigned to TV on the onkyo I/O assign menu/digital inputs.
In case your TV does support ARC, you need to activate it in the Onkyo's hardware/HDMI setup menu, either by turning on HDMI control (tv or receiver control each other via cable), or by turning ARC on (you'd probably need to activate ARC on your TV as well).
Hope this help,

Can't get Playstation3 sound through the STR-DG800 using HMDI.

Do you have your ps3 connected to the TV with HDMI and then audo cables from the TV to the receiver? If so, you need to make sure you change the audio settings on your TV to surround sound.

Receiving "Unlock" message and "Not Used" on my reciever

The HDMI inputs are pass through inputs only. The reciever cannot recieve any sound signals through the HDMI's. The reciever acts as a selector switch for the HDMI inputs. Whatever input you have selected on the reciever is the one that is being sent through the output to your TV. The "unlock" display shows when there is no sound signal sent to the reciever. There is no code to unlock. This is the reciever's way of telling you that there is no sound being sent to it from that input. Since there is no sound being processed from the HDMI's, you need to hook up an additional audio cable from the device to the reciever (preferrably an optical cable). When the reciever recieves an audio signal, it will then "unlock" and you will get sound. The only purpose for the HDMI jacks on this reciever is to give you a bonus HDMI jack so you only have to use one on your TV. I know it is confusing. I had to look into this problem myself, so I'm happy to help. Higher end recievers will actually recieve and process sound signals from the HDMI's.

Please help with getting 5.1 sound from my TV!

You must run a Digital Optical cable from your PS3 to your reciever. Then press your function button on your recievers remote until you see SAT/CABLE on your recievers display. Next go to your PS3 settings and go to Sound settings, then Audio Output settings, and select Digital out (OPTICAL) then your done. This is the only way to get true digital sound from your PS3 to your reciever.
