NEW Philips DVD Player used 3 times only stopped loading DVD.Although CD is working perfectly. DVD keeps spinning at uniform speed and display shows Loading. Laser will not die after just 2-3 uses.

Hi Mike, Actually this player had only 6 months warranty which has passed now. I have used CD or DVD only 2 times in it as I mostly used it through USB port using pen drive. I am wondering if this issue can be due to flex cable fault if flex cable has different lines to supply power for CD laser diode and DVD laser diode ? the cable, if it has the right ends on it allowing it to plug into the equipment correctly, will have the correct wiring configuration. But those cables can and do go bad on a regular basis. Power is through one pair of cables and data goes through another. There are multiple issues that can cause the reader to stop functioning. Try a CD and a DVD. If one works and the other doesn't oh, it is likely your laser reader.
