Question about Samsung Televison & Video
Hello Carrie, so you comment, the problem is actually in the back lighting of the LCD panel
Usually the fault occurs because one or more of the backlight LEDs are burned and as they are connected in series circuit, the rest of the LEDs are turned off
The solution would be to replace the damaged LEDs, I suggest you get the new LED strips and replace all the LEDs, because if you only replace the burned ones, surely there are others that work, but they are already exhausted and soon would burn and that would cause you to have to disassemble the TV again
Be very careful with the handling of the LCD panel,
When you have to remove it, do it with another person who helps you, is delicate and could be damaged
I pass the link of a video about the repair of the backlight of a Samsung 50 ", the procedure is the same for your Samsung 60"
I hope you can solve the problem, comment the results, good luck
Greetings Franco Dosil
Saludos Franco Dosil

Try a reset frist by unplugging for 2 minutes then restart the TV. If you only paid $300 for the TV you will most likely pay more than that for repairs and parts to fix it otherwise.

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should trouble shoot. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.

SOURCE: Insignia TV picture not working but sound is. Flashlight test picture so assumed backlights. Replaced the board for the lights but is still not working. Model ns-50d550na15 part numbers 170452 172770.
Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Hey Matt, It was nice speaking with you on 6YA. If I can be of anymore help feel free to ask. Several other forums I browsed recommend replacing both the LED Driver and the Power Board at the same time and several say one at a time is fine. Replace the LED Driver board then go from there.
