I have a Frigidaire FMV156DCC microwave. One day, it just stopped working. None of the button response when I press them. No LED display. Light didn't turn on when I open the door. I plugged the power cable to a different plug, same thing, and I made sure both power outlets had power. Then I left it unplugged for couple days and plugged the power again. Nothing happens. What part could be wrong?
Thanks,
There has to be a defect in this model. Mine stopped working. The repairman came and charged me $87 to tell me he didn't know what was wrong, but needed to order $700 worth of parts to switch in and out until he found it. Then, I was ready to order something else online and googled this model. I saw all the same problems and someone saying the door latch is unlevel. They said the door just needs to be lifted up. Someone put a spring in the hinge and it is working fine. So, I went in, punched in a time, pushed start...nothing...lifted up on the door handle...and low and behold, it works. Used it yesterday and today by folding a piece of cardboard several times and placing on the left under the hinge. Will have someone fix it right tomorrow. Hmmmmm....
The fuse is gone in the plug.....
I had a similar problem once before & it turned out to be both fuse and circuit breaker inside the micro wave - the c.b. in the unit was stuck on 'off' - a simple case of finding it - freeing it and a lite spray of wd done the trick for me .
Now finding the breaker was not as simple as i say, and the microwave was different but I to understand that because of the nature of the beast they require a CB, for safty. if you are worried about takening apart your mw to find this - bring it to a delear or find a sparky who can do it. -best of luck .P
Please understand this - when I said to you to replace the fuse in the plug - why did you need to take apart the M/w as the plug is at the end of the cable leading out off the unit/ please put the M/W back together and do this - failling this you should bring the unit to an dealer as I fear that you will do harm to yourself or others around you as a M/w is not something you should really mess with as you appartly know notthing about them.
I have spoken to a expert on these and he agrees with me, in that if you needed to take apart the M/w to 'change the fuse in the plug' you should really give it to some one who knows more about it.
Please do I ask - sorry for your touble
A possible good idea- sorry i couldnt be of more help to your problem - I found a very good make called 'GOLDSTAR'- and I have had this 1 for 5yrs & in moving it once I dropped it and would you belive it still worked ----- if only they made mob.phones as good............lol.....
best of luck P.

Ordered and replaced fuse kit and still not working.
Hi Phil,
I actually took the microwave apart while replacing the fuse, but I couldn't find where the circuit breaker is. Could you please take a look at the diagram here http://www.partselect.com/AdvancedModelS... and let me know which part is the circuit breaker?
Thanks so much!
I guess each model is different. This model doesn't have fuse in the plug. The only fuse can be accessed is by opening the cover. Your concern is appreciated. Thinking this might be my little summber fun project, I guess I'm wrong. I'm not gonna waste any of my time to fix this piece of crap. Taking it to a repairman will eventually cost me more time and money because they might say something else is broken and costs more money. I'm just gonna throw it away and buy a new one.
Thanks,
