I have a TomTom go 6000 .I got it on Amazon .It has UK maps,I would like to change it to canadian.it has only been used in the UK .is this a problem.

Download the app tomtom My drive to your pc then connect your tomtom 6000, you could buy the map from Tomtom.

0845 1610009 this is tom tom costumer service, give them a ring they would quide you step by step, but first you should buy memory card ( depends how big is american map)

you may have run out of memory for the full map, your device can use a 2Gb max SDcard which should be enough for all your maps. It will have put placeholder there and tryed to drop the full map but you can only see the bit it could store to the memory.

Yes, your GPS device can have more than one map ... assuming there's enough memory (RAM or SDCard) available on your device.
Just copy the map (from your home computer) to the GPS device (memory), then install the map using the activation code (for that map) on your device. After that is done, you'll be able to use the UK maps on the device (by switching map to the UK map, using the navigation software)

Can I add a Florida map to a Tom Tom 25 or do l have to add a new memory card and remove the u k maps
some TomTom models do not have enough space to store all the possible maps you can download. You will probably have to remove your current map in order to install the Florida map. The TomTom utilities should tell you how much is need/available.

I live in the USA. How do I use the TomTom Go 910 in the UK?
Should work just fine without having to change anything. If i remember right UK is still on the imperial system and not the metric which wouldn't affect the unit, just in the road signs, As in kms to someplace instead of miles like you are used to. As for the maps i would suggest that you buy another SD card and download the UK maps to it and leave your card at home. To switch maps see if the map you need is on the SD card, probably not, but it might be on your cd that came with the unit. If so just use a new card and download it using the software onto the SD card. Test the card to make sure that it works before you leave though. Hope this helps

Cannot get the uk map on my tom tom one xl am told it is on the xl but all i get is canary isle
Power up yout tomtom

Tap the map screen to bring up the options menu

Then tap the spanner / wrench icon

Use the right arrow to scroll until you see Manage Maps and

Tap that now tap switch map

Select the one you need and you may need to tap twice.

You have changed maps to the one you want.

If the map you want is not listed then you would have to purchase it from TomTom

You will have to delete some features, icons, or voices from your tom tom using the desktop software on your PC in order to upload a new map to it.

Tomtom One T Europe version 3
You can back up all your current maps and install North American maps for Florida using TomTom Home. You can switch back to European maps when you get back to the UK as well- I used my TomTom Home to manage my GPS and I find it can be very useful in situations like that
