This may be corrected by fast-forwarding the tape for a few seconds and then rewinding it back to the point where the issue first started. However, if the issue continues, this could be a sign that the video heads are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use a Sony MiniDV head-cleaning cassette (DVM-12CLD) to clean the video heads.
If the movie continues to stop at the same point even after cleaning the video heads, this could be an indication that there is a problem with the recording on the cassette tape. If this is the case, the data on that portion of the tape cannot be recovered.
NOTES:

  • It is recommended that a high-quality Sony MiniDV tape be used for recording.

I'm using a coax cable from symphonic vr-701 to tv and trying to record. it acts like it is recording but just shows snowy image on playback

Coax from wall to coax in on VCR and Vcr Coax out to in on set.

Whatever channel vcr is on this way it will record and pass to set.

Check first you have playback from VCR to TV alone, could have dirty or blocked video heads which in record will just record no watchable picture. Hookup or blocked video heads are most likely.

I'm using Audacity with a Shure SM58 mic, and the recording plays back fine when the mic is unplugged, but if it is still plugged in when I press Play, there is no sound and the light on the mic's chord...

I assume you are using the X2u USB adapter. When plugged in, the X2u acts as your sound card for recording and playback. Thus the playback will be on the headphone jack of the X2u. You can select which sound card to use for playback in the Windows Sound Control Panel.

Camera acts like it is taking photos just fine (and it was working wonderfully previously), but when I insert card into computer to view images, there are none showing up. And, when I try to view them with...

Check your memory card and see if it has a lock switch on it, if it does and it is locked it wont accept images for overwrite protection , another possibility is a faulty or non-readable card, some memory cards will not work with some devices, sometimes a kingston memory will not work and if you insert a sony or a memorex or any other manufacturer it may work or accept the card, if the camera does not read the card it will not save pics therefore u wont see any images on your PC o in cam playback, try that and see if it works for you, let me know.

Good luck ,

How to unlock a picture

Go to the playback menu and select it (you may have to adjust the circular option know to get to the playback menu). Once there, scroll to the picture(s) that are locked by using the sideways selection arrow buttons. Then select the up or down arrows, which will lock or unlock your picture. You can also erase any locked pictures, in case you want to, by formatting the xD card. Hope this helps.

Fuji FinePix A350; Can not get date stamped on digital pictures. When I go to setting and select "with date" the Menu/OK button does not do anything (acts like it is locked out.

i reviewed the manuel and it looks like you can only output d and t on playback mode to a printer to imprint on -date and time stamp on actual pic is not a feature on a lot of models-canon still does it but you need to put camera in postcard size pic mode to do it
