Hello, i have an LG portable air conditioner Model number L1111WXRY1 The fan on it works fine but the condenser seems to keep shutting off every minute and stays off for a while, mind you thr fan still runs so instead of blowing cold air it blows room temperature air. I checked the coils and theyre not frozen, the filter has been cleaned, and i have shut it off and left it off for half and hour. Does anyone know why this is happening? Also, rught before the compressor shuts off i hear a weird clicking noise just once.

It seems like it's short cycling. The condensor motor runs when the compressor runs,
Probable cause, no airflow thru the condenser, low on refrigerant, wrong location of temperature sensor,

I would start with adding freon to system, from what you are stating freon is low. You may have a small leak, so use freon with leak seal, also use freon with gauge so you dont over fill and blow orings.

I would say that your return air sensor is faulty or not positioned correctly. Check sensor

SOURCE: Compressor Fan stop working

Do you have a meter? Either the fan is bad or the capacitor is bad. Ohm out the fan and then the capacitor. Be sure you take the disconnect out of the electrical box on the side of the house and or trip the breaker off. The capacitor is a dual run one side operates the compressor and one side operates the fan. I would really bet on the capacitor being bad. Have seen that a lot in my experience. Be sure to make note of the wiring of the capacitor before you take it out to check and if you are not sure how to check it take it to the parts house and they can check it.

SOURCE: model gss25wg. 5 years old. Worked fine when we got it home. Now

Try to remove rear wall of freezer to check frost pattern. An even but light patter of frost on full coil is normal. Coils full of frost with aluminum almost fully hidden generally means defrost problem. Heavier frost on the bottom coils and gradually tapering off as you go up until the top coils have no frost usually means a leak of freon or a bad compressor.

Where is the drain hole in my ac

Hello, some window units do not have drain holes to remove the condensate, instead they use the condenser fan blade to scoop up the condensate and splash the condenser coil to keep it cool, and evaporate the condensate. This is the " swishing" sound that is heard.

We have purchased 2 window units, model number AEW10APH1. Where do we find the drain on the bottom for the condesation to drain from?

Hello, most window air conditioners do not have a bottum drain. The way they get rid of the condensate is by having tje fan splash it on tje condenser, since the condenser is warm it will evaporate the condensate and this cyle keeps reapeating untill the unit is turned off.

Where does my air conditioner drain, is there a pipe or something?

Hello, most window air conditioners evaporate the condensate by the fan picking up the condensate and splashing the condenser, since the condenser is hot it will evaporate the water as soon as in comes in contact with the condenser.

Air conditioner shuts down constantly, need to

Sorry but you are just going to have to keep emptying it. These types or air conditioners are also use as de-humidifiers and unless you can place it somewhere where you can connect a drain hose it is going to require many trips to dump the holding tank of the condensation.

Central air

Most thermostats have a setting for the fan called, "manual". That keeps the fan on continuously. The electronic thermostats can fail in a "fan on" condition. That would require a new thermostat. I also saw one air conditioner with a fan relay welded "on" by electrical surge. That would require a new relay.
